2021 992 Exterior Package Painted

Default 2021 992 Exterior Package Painted
Front air intakes and rear black plastic facia painted in exterior color - requires painted mirrors and sport design side skirts. This is new for 2022, correct? Anyone have pictures?

Dying to see this. The configurator doesn't show what the rear looks like with it.

Nope. Kind of annoying since its such a substantial change in the appearance of the car. I dont think the configurator is ready for primetime.

Considering the US configurator has significant lag and no 3D rendering I would agree.

The configurator still doesn't show the front and rear very well on this option. Does anyone have a real-life photo?

After 18k miles, I can confirm that the black plastic up front takes a lot of rock hits.
If you're intending to actually drive the car and choosing paint for those pieces, I would definitely go with PPF up front, because you're putting paint in harms way.

This is the info I received from my dealer (C4S conv. on order in Azzuro Thetys)

992 Exterieur-Paket lackiert (ABU) beinhaltet:
  • Lufteinlassblenden lackiert in Exterieurfarbe
  • Heckunterteil lackiert in Exterieurfarbe


Bauteile siehe Skizze.



ABU ist zwangsverknüpft mit:
  • EXC-Außenspiegeln
    • 6FJ (Außenspiegel-Unterschalen lackiert in Exterieurfarbe inkl. Spiegelfüße lackiert in Schwarz hochglanz)
    • 6FU (Außenspiegel lackiert in Exterieurfarbe)
    • 6FQ (Außenspiegel-Oberschalen Carbon)
  • EXC Schwellerverkleidung
    • VR4 (SportDesign Schwellerverkleidungen)

That pic is very interesting and may in fact be the first sighting of the option. With the front aero flaps open, it may look very different and much better.

Ive seen it in person once on a 992 S with base bumpers. Dont do it! It looks funky!

But in high gloss black, it may look good. On the Turbo, it’s like having the Sports Design package in high gloss black, but without the aero elements.

This option is finally being rendered on the Porsche configurator. I like it, but it may be color dependent . . .
