Some RAM and software upgrades. Hopefully improved boot time, usability and reliability. Time will tell.

I was actually on the fence last weekend whether to wait for MY22. Instead, I put a deposit down for a June build. Glad I’m not missing much and from the sound of it, a June build is MY21, so I’m safe!
I was told in the system even though it was a June build, it was estimated for a July delivery. My CA said that is probably false and would be either August or September. I’m on the east coast, does it seriously take that long after production? Jeez. But can’t wait!
P.S. even though my dealer and build sheet said it’s a MY21, there’s not a chance it would automatically flip to a MY22, right?

I saw this mentioned earlier in the thread as something that may be coming in the future but are you seeing it in the current configurator? I’m not. But hopefully I’m just not looking in the right place because this is something I’ve been looking forward to. The option to add dash cams without having to tear the car apart to install is very appealing to me.

CarPlay actually stinks, at least in my last bmw, the head unit software is better than CarPlay. About the only thing CarPlay is good for running Waze natively. As far as the 2% price increase, commodity inflation is out of control - aluminum alone is up 44% in the last year. I am surprised the price increase is only 2%.

I've read whereby car mfg are now building cars with options, features and services built-in, right from the factory and delivered with the base car. If you want the feature at some later date, you have to pay to "unlock" the feature in your own car.

Of course, once industry stabilizes we might see commodities level back down.

No. Wireless Carplay will be free for the first three years after which it would a a feature you "subscribe and pay for." That's our collective understanding.
