Default 2022 Configurator Now Running

The base price has been raised $2000. I'm not sure what, if anything, you get for $2k!

Yep.

Hopefully this works.

From a quick glance... these new options popped out.
  • Shark Blue
  • More interior leather options
  • Remote ParkAssist
  • RAS now includes Power Steering Plus
  • Sport Chrono with Subsecond clock
  • Android Auto now supported alongside CarPlay, but both integrations become a subscription ala BMW

Also...
  • Aerokit remains part of the configurator, so rumors of its permanent demise have been exaggerated
  • Roof transport system preparation $60 — new add on fee

And yes, the $2k increase is a pure price bump with nothing new added. In fact, some things in 2022 have been taken away — eg. CarPlay being free.

991.1 Guy,
'not sure what, if anything, you get for $2k!'

My 2021 build locked last Friday so I checked to see what difference it would make to create the same build in the 2022 configurator and the price increase was $2,000 to the penny.
A major change I noted is that the Noise Cancelling Glass has been discontinued. The Premium Package is unchanged and If you had your heart set on personalized illuminated doorsills that also has been discontinued but take heart! You can now have a Bespoke Logo on the Console Lid for $670.

Last thing I saw that's a big change is the addition of Remote Park Assist which can be had in the 'Premium Package with Remote ParkAssist', separate from the standard Premium Package, or as a standalone option, Remote ParkAssist incl. Lane Change Assist and 3D Surround View for $4090. That option is unavailable to those with a manual transmission.
There may be more but that's what caught my eye.

My build had the Noise Cancelling Glass that now has a 'stop sale' and was given the option to move my allocation to a 2022 and wait for the glass option to become available again. Glad I declined the offer!

The benefit I see in this option is you no longer need to get a sunroof to add the roof transport system.

Not sure this has just not been updated, but currently it looks like you get the "base" exhaust pipes/finishers instead of the dual/quads with the stock set up:

I'm hoping the addition of Android Auto will also be made available for 2020/2021 models via a PCM update.

It appears that the quads have disappeared. The S models and the Base models share the same standard exhaust finishers now. This makes sense given the popularity of the PSE -- there likely weren't many quad pipe equipped S cars. It's a cost-cutting measure.

Given that the item references the Porsche Connect Store, if it becomes available, I wouldn't expect it to be FREE.

"This option extends Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Wired Android Auto past the included 3 years. Alternatively, this is available after the production of the vehicle as a Function on Demand via the Porsche Connect store."

It looks like the storage bin is snapped in place instead of the cupholder. Given that we're talking Porsche, the cupholder is probably now a pricey accessory. LOL

They don't show the center cupholder anymore, but I assume it is included. Glad I got my 2S with 4 pipe exhaust.

I am confused about Apple Play. It says it is included free for three years in 2022 model. Is it free forever on 2021s? That means 2022 is $2360 more expensive.

Is there any way to still use the 2021 configurator?

Configuring a 2022 like my 2020 shows a price increase of around $4k. The premium package now includes surround view -- something that I didn't spec with my car, but yes, the price of the 911 is indeed creeping up.
