Default 992 GTS release date

Anyone received any information from their dealer about the release date? When I contacted my dealer they told me it is supposed to be released in April and they already received the allocations but they don't have the specifications yet.

Anyway, a GTS is a long way off yet, even if we get a 992.2 at some point, at the end of that run you may see a GTS, MAY see it. Until I see a spy shot of one everything else is hearsay.
Ummmm...you obviously haven't been paying attention. Here are photos of the GTS, GTS Targa and GTS cab testing at the Ring. Centre locks wheels, clear rear stop light instead of red, sport design kit, etc. Car will be released by the end of the month or early next.

My dealer laughed when I inquired....said they were told in Jan-Feb a lot of things would be released in April but they have heard nothing and do not expect to see a GTS prior to the Fall due to numerous factors. Makes sense as they have not seen a 911 on the floor in almost 60 days that wasn't sold already and prepped for delivery. Nothing in their system to prep for 992 GTS orders as they are still working thru recently released 992 GT3 demand. Don't think Porsche has the bandwith currently to push the GTS it seemed.

Thats funny...Porsche usually doesn't receive allocations for something that they haven't even released yet. Given that the GT3 was only just announced last month I don't think you'll see GTS releases this soon let alone an allocation to order one. Some Porsche dealerships are notorious for stringing folks along and taking order and building wait lists prior to allocations actually arriving from Porsche...they may be referring you to that list internally for them and to build their sales. Also may have been given some preview info on how many GTS allocations will be released when the car is announced and debuted and speculation on what they may receive but actual allocations are doubtful especially as many dealers are saying they've gotten all of their MY21 allocations for 992s for the year and MY22 are still being formulated but COVID19 shutdown and chip shortages may be pushing even those to the right timeline wise. Good luck!

It is funny, because today I was told that the 22 model year hasn't been federalized yet so there's no telling when it will actually show. Through an unfortunate series of events I lost an allocation for a Targa 4S I was offered and am now on the waiting list for a Targa GTS. I'm thinking if I get to order one I won't see it until the end of the year or maybe first quarter next year the way things are going.

I'd say for a targa GTS Q1/Q2 of 2022 is BEST CASE scenario.... I'd be really surprised if the car is available in the US this fall/winter.

you pulled this directly out of your backside, yes? it's been verified by insiders that orders will begin this month or next, with deliveries in summer.

Given the complete lack of allocations and inventory just for base S/4S models for the next six months, does it really matter?

Well I’ve been having a discussion on Reddit regarding a picture of a lowered 992 on the move....

He says “it’s the new 992 GTS!”
I say “no it’s not you ****! It’s just a lowered 992, so sport kit, no GTS extras, the GTS doesn’t even exist yet, plus it has a US plate, you’d see spy shots in Germany first”
He says “well the US get test cars first, plus it’s this, and that”
Me “do I need to show you a picture of my 992 to prove this is just a lowered car!?!?!”

*****!

Anyway, a GTS is a long way off yet, even if we get a 992.2 at some point, at the end of that run you may see a GTS, MAY see it. Until I see a spy shot of one everything else is hearsay.

ya that rolling florida shot of the dropped 992 is 100% obviously not a GTS cause of no sportdesign kit.

Hard to tell because it's black, but does it look like the Targa is lowered like the other GTS cars? With the current Targa you can't get Sport PASM.

I was down at West Broward earlier this month discussing allocations of new models with one of their sales managers.
They get first dibs on ALL the hot cars because of their sales volume / inventory.
He is not expecting any GTS's on the lot until Summer 2022 at the earliest.

not at all out of my backside. my dealer (high volume shop in Los Angeles) told me they'll announce it relatively soon but Europe will get deliveries in the fall and US deliveries will start next year. I'm not convinced they actually have that data but given how current production can't keep up with demand this seemed plausible to me.
