That’s largely true and after a while you do forget about the outer two dials. But that’s odd in itself, surely.

The only thing I haven’t been able to find how to add to the custom view on the center-right dial (#4 in Porsche speak) is remaining range. It’s there in the vehicle view but not selectable in customized. Also strange.

I have to say I very rarely look at...even the tach...I use my eyes for road and surrounding traffic and ears for engine noise/when to shift...I actually like the look when I'm sitting at a light but that's all forgotten when clutch is let out!

Like another poster said, these cars should have configurable heads up displays on the windshield. The corvettes have had these for years and I really grew to love that feature. You could adjust the position of the display on the windshield to suit your preference. Around town it was great to have just the speedo in big numbers.

Really?
I tried to find pictures of what you discribe, but can not find any. To my knowledge there is no digital fuel gauge in the 991.2. There might be a number displayed which shows the estimated miles till the tank is empty.

My car is at Soul Performance playing right now, but when I get it back I can take some shots.

But to your point, since it's two screens they should be able to configure them is various ways to the pleasure of the driver. Having written that, they already have problems with the code they wrote without adding complexity. I think they should hand this all over to Apple and forget about managing it in-house. They are not a software company. Imagine a dash display simulator on your iPad, drag and drop features and the configuration that you want into it, then download it to your car. That would be worthy.

@000 had a pretty cool solution in issue 013... I highly recommend giving it a read

Now that would be cool, CarPlay for the instruments almost. Of course the android folks amongst us may complain but what's the price of an entry level iPad amongst friends!

Audi has a great thing going with MMI. Porsche needs to have something like MMI but given the price increase with Porsche vs Audi, something better and cleaner. It’s 2021, enough with the physical analog gauges. Virtual/digital gauges that change with drive modes would be awesome. I’d like something with different, configurable gauges but also gauge colors. It’s also ridiculous that the new gauge cluster doesn’t have a media display.
