Default Central Tach & Sport Chrono Photos

Anyone have a head on shot of the central tach and sport chrono in white? The few dealer photos were ether very small or low res. The configurator shows the numbers are filled darker, while what I've seen so far, the numbers look much lighter and have less contrast against the white background. Not sure if that's a lighting effect ( numbers are sliver reflecting light? ) or something else. Trying to decide between the white or red. Daylight and night illumination would be much appreciated!

this worked when I was looking, goto google.com, search for: 992 porsche white tach site:rennlist.com
click images, and you can change the word from white to red, etc...

I have that combo. Hold on I will go take a pic. In my opinion its the best combo to pick. And I just bought my car this way. At night, the tip of the needle has a glows a circle of light over the number its on. Its pretty cool. Hold on, I will go take a day pic.

Thanks for the pics bigworm! This is from a 2021 MY? Do you notice the number contrast gets lost at all in the day light?

It's too late for me to change anything in my spec, but in some pics, it seemed like the white was almost a bright "paper white". In Bigworm's pic, they look like chalk or a slightly greyish hue which I prefer.

Unfortunately, shadows/lighting play such a big factor in capturing this without seeing it in person, and I was never able to see this in person.

Totally agree, after looking though some pics, this post had nice detail in the first pic, and then the second pic, while lower resolution did seem to wash out the numbers more. This post and the numbers look dark. So seems like maybe they changed from one MY to the next? The red dial appears more consistent from pic to pic.

I drove a 992 with the white circle tachometer and it is a cool (almost bluish) off-white in real life. One other thing that does not come across in pictures is whether the white circle has those small circular ridges that you see in the standard tachometer or whether it is smooth. I still can't remember.

I have the white dials on my 21 Targa 4s. I second guessed it all the way to the lock. After receiving the car and l driving with it in different lighting situations, I really love it. No regrets at all. I actually prefer this approach to the outgoing model where the dial colors always looked garish to me (it was my least favorite thing in the 991.2 GTS)

Thanks for the pics! These look great. So the numbers just look darker when then backlight is off versus on with the rest of the instrument cluster. That's actually really cool.
Also love the Graphite Blue interior choice, that's also what I selected!

Nice! I spent months on the configurator messing around with the thousands of combinations before I even contacted a dealer. I do like the classic look of the white dials.

Reply to: #14 thanks mobilis, those are great! I love how the backlight illuminates the numbers only; that cool white light on the gauges is sweet.
