Color Combination Dilemma GT Silver vs Gentian Blue
Hello All,
Have been lurking here last few weeks and finally decided to make a first post as I’ve been going back and forth with the configurator. I’m not in a 992 yet but am hoping to join the club soon.
Currently have a 718c in night blue metallic with agate gray interior. At the time of purchase 991.2 was on its way out with the 992 not yet released so picked up 718c as in between. Enjoy the 718 but original plan was to get the 992 and use as daily driver. Planning to order a 992 c2 and can’t decide between these color combinations.
GT Silver / Black Bordeaux w. aluminum window trim
Gentian Blue / Black Mojave std int or Slate/Chalk w. aluminum trim
Shark Blue (if confirmed available) / not sure besides black what will go with this color
I am going for more gt oriented style, and like to avoid all black for the interior.
Really like Gentian blue but as I own night blue already, thought GT silver would be a nice change. Let me know any thoughts on this and appreciate any feedback or suggestions on some classic Porsche color combinations.

Gentian Blue is quite different than Night Blue--look at both side by side if you can. GB pops more in the sun and has a slight purple hue (I would not call it overly purple at all)--I've had a lot of people tell me it's the nicest blue they've ever seen. The contrast of the chalk/slate interior with GB makes for a great GT oriented car.

Thanks for your response. I have compared the NB side by side in photos and have seen GB on the road and it looks quite special.
Might need to see more of them in person to make sure it’s not too dark. NB is a few shades too dark, but at the time Sapphire & Graphite Blue were already discontinued.

First let me say that I love blue cars. My Lexus is Ultra Sonic Blue - which is close to Gentian...... but my problem with Gentian is that when not under sunlight or bright lights, it's too dark for my taste.
I have also owned a GT Silver Cayman - and my claim is that GT Silver is THE BEST SILVER EVER CREATED
So between these two, I'd go GT Silver and I did (April delivery).... As you had mentioned, if Sapphire was available, I may have gone that route.... or if Gentian was a little lighter, I would have been swayed.

Good luck!
I was between GB and GT and went silver because GB had too much purple for me...I wish SB was available too!
Thanks for all the replies. Basically what I was afraid of was if Gentian blue was too dark. As this will be my first 911, I wanted to stick with something classic.
In terms of interior I am leaning towards Black/Bordeaux but wanted to get everyone’s opinion if Black/Mojave beige will work with GT silver? I’ve never owned a red interior before, but was convinced after seeing some photos on here.

I have the black/Bord in my GT. Really like and a bit different!
I have a friend with a Cayman in a dark blue with a light grey interior - light grey is a real pain and he is in the process of having it dyed because it faded.
I also have a friend who had a 991.2 base with a manual trans that was GT Silver with the Black/Bordeaux interior and he brought it in for 3 year service and dealer made him a really high cash offer for the car because he had multiple buyers for it - he took the offer and is now trying to decide what to buy instead. That combination is classy and is always popular with prospective buyers.
