Default Spec a 992 with resale value in mind

If a major concern of a buyer is resale value, say during the term of his warrenty, how then to best spec a 992 to get the most return at resale ?

Low spec GT3 with a manual and carbon bucket seats.

Given the current limited supply, it really doesn’t matter how you spec’d it, because there are more buyers than cars right now. This is a peak resale value moment.

Sport package
Minimum Bose speakers
Maybe Aerokit
Perhaps RAS?
Nice stitching of the interior leather and the Porsche crest on the headrest is a high quality touch

I don’t have aerokit or RAS, by the way

Manual or PDK won't affect it
Deviated Stitching
Not an out there color
No Aerokit
Bose
Ambient Lighting
PSE
Sport Chrono
Heated Steering Wheel
Headrest Crests

I have all of these except for the heated steering wheel

But I’m surprised that you think aerokit is a strike against value.

I think there is a market for the aerokit, but it is not as broad as the typical 911 lines. When I was a kid I thought 911s with the whale tail was just about the coolest thing. I don't think the aerokit is that sought after, and currently there are delays on it, so any allocation order with it will take months longer.

EDIT: I will also add that I don't like the aerokit for these reasons too.

1. It adds the sport design package - which means the front which looks nice is more scrape prone, but worse, the fins in the front that open and close for airflow in the cold are removed.
2. The rear sport design package put the license plate up in the bumper which I personally don't care for and if you look at them side by side I think the rear looks better without the sport design package. The front looks good both ways, but you lose the fins.
3. The rear wing is not only fixed. I happen to like the speed driven wings on 911, but the wing is angled down and while that I'm sure has a performance aspect to it, I think it looks off in how it is angled.

So maybe I just don't like it and it is a preference thing.

Keep it simple: almost all options return nothing at resale, but especially the cosmetic stuff

Bose
Sport Chrono
PSE

Especially avoid leather "upgrades" of any kind, RAS or PDCC, and any of the headlight or body panel options (Sport Design or Aeorokt). I'd add sunroof and SPASM to the "avoid it" list but those are contentious: I wouldn't buy a 992 with either of those options but some folks think they are must-haves.

I think color combos have a bigger impact than specific options. Most cars seem to have Premium or Premium +, Bose, Sunroof and PSE. I think the inventory available at time of sale/trade would also have a bigger impact.
It might be because I'm looking at them more and more lately but I'm flabbergasted by the amount of low mile 992 sitting on AutoTrader. When I was looking at buying my 991 there certainly weren't as many.

Avoid funky colors.Whites, silver and blues are always in demand. Manual transmissions and you can't go wrong with a coupe.

spec’ing the car for the next owner is a great way to neither enjoy the car nor get your money’s worth from it. But yeah sure you can save a couple grand.

Really? I think I’ve seen one manual S Coupe on AutoTrader.
