Default gear shifter crack! (pics)

Definitely not a scratch!

I noticed today there's a crack in the paintwork of the gear shifter.

Anyone else have similar problems?

Thanks!

Yup, mine's just starting from the top and it's gradually getting worse! 16k miles in.

I had the exact same issue with my drive selector and I'd only driven 2700 miles at the time. I had mine replaced under warranty. They ended up replacing a large portion of the centre console as the sunroof button had become sticky/stuck.

Any chance it's sat under the sun for long periods and heated up?

There ought to be a recall of some sort for this as it appears to be quite endemic.

I’d request the dealer replace it with the billet aluminum version under warranty.

Maybe this is one of the reasons that version exists.
