992 Carrera T Club
I got an update last night... There is a very small chance, but a chance that I get on the ship from Emden leaving on Monday. If I am loaded on to that ship, I would land in RI port on 7/10, and hopefully at my dealer just a week or two later... That would mean late July summer driving could start. If I miss that boat, I don't imagine I'll see the car before the end of the summer based on shipping schedules, so fingers are crossed

My GT3 mini review. Difficult to break it all down on paper. I’ll highlight some things….
- Racing bucket seats are uncomfortable to sit in after awhile. Pain to get in & out also. Rock solid. Limited adjustments.
- The ride on the streets is a bit too bumpy. Makes the car feel a bit sloppy on certain inferior surfaces.
- Faster. But, I know that’s also due to my revving it to its higher redline vs. T where I haven’t gone above 5K yet. Strangely, felt a bit of lag in lower RPMs. But kinda makes sense if u look at its torque spec >> only 338 ft lbs @ 6K rpm.
- Sits a bit lower which looks better (less wheel gap) but driving feel of slightly lower car not that noticeable.
- A bit louder exhaust. Deeper tone and more oomph to it. Like it.
- Cornering / handling felt similar to T, but didn’t drive it long enough to know for sure.
- Appearance: Front bumper not that attractive in person. The carbon hood looks amazing. Want it. The wing looks great. As mentioned, stance is also a bit better.
- Overall, I’d love to have it as a track car and it definitely has the cool factor.

How many miles on your car? You must have over 1k at least. TIME TO SEND IT!
I have a friend with a `22 GT3. We also plan to swap and have some fun. Maybe this Sunday. He's got sport seats, which he prefers. I'm glad the buckets weren't available for us or I would have bought them.
I suspect the T will feel peppier around town than many other 911's, even the 911S, because it's got virtually all of its torque at about 1,900 RPM. And that torque curve is not a curve at all, it's a line. I have no complaints about the power or the turbo lag (or lack there of). Although, it's not as good feeling as my CGTS4.0 NA engine of course. But short of jumping from one to the other, the 911T 3.0tt engine is very good. It just sounds wimpy. For comparison, my daily, an A5 Sportback, has massive turbo lag. The dual clutch automatic helps with that, and it's just my daily, so I don't care nearly as much. And the car is very quick. But who cares. lol

Collected my T yesterday and spent most of the afternoon driving it. Brilliant service from Porsche Silverstone who provided cake/candles/card/flowers and a very nice gift as it happened to be my wife’s birthday.
I’m delighted with my spec and wouldn’t have changed a thing. The dealership principal was saying how few T’s they have been allocated and how many enquiries they have had.
Green interior (extra leather areas as standard in the UK) with Racetex roof/armrest/wheel look smart and the GT3 side skirts look terrific (I was a bit worried they would look OTT alongside the standard front and rear bumpers).
The manual gearbox with the short throw feels great although I managed to stall it in traffic a couple of times and it is easy to accidentally block change down into the wrong ratio if you are not precise. I was getting close to 32mpg for the day too which is not too shabby! Annoyingly I got caught in heavy rain so it’s a bit grubby already

About 800 miles. I drive it almost daily, but my NJ home is right next to Hudson River (I recall u said u know this area well). Also, I’m just a few blocks away from route 9W. I’m near Alpine, NJ. So, I immediately hit awesome driving roads which minimizes mileage. Oh, I’ll be full send soon! Then see if ok with power as is…we’ll see, but gut tells me probably (not 100% yet). But the exhaust, >50% chance upgrading it. Also, considering lowering it. The only thing about lowering is that it’s so nice to drive it without being concerned with scraping, etc presently. Another, we’ll see.
Yes, I worked at Montami Country Club (next to Tamcrest) before they turned it into a neighborhood. lol.
I have **** for roads and they're over crowded. So if I skip my morning workout, I wake up early and drive down to Jones Beach and back. Like I did this morning. LOL I just passed 1,353 miles. Oil has been changed. Engine is being explored.

I know LI well. Had a 2nd home in the Hamptons but was more of an investment…..u know, summer rental, etc. Plus, I used to golf a lot various courses in LI. Also have many friends out there, but I always make excuses to not visit them cause I dread the traffic that way and back to Manhattan. How about driving early AM going east away from Manhattan (instead of south)…any better?

So the first 992 T Northeast meet happened. The conversation between @CengueFever and @ECNJ went like this:
Enjoyed a chat and a beer courtesy of @ECNJ and we talked life and T's and then went and snapped some pics
Include me on the next one; that grouping would look better with a Python Green in it!
- Should we meet towards end of June?
- How about early July?
- Can you guys meet in 30 minutes?
- LFG! See you in 30 mins.
