After 2 months sitting at port in Germany, my T looks like its on a boat to the west coast of USA. I know this forum is all about excitement for these cars but as time goes on, I am less and less excited about the T. It's not a value proposition at its price anymore and I'd frankly rather spend the rest on a cobra to sit next to my lotus. I am also sad I wasn't able to order the options I wanted during that first production frame. Anyways, it's either walk away or find another buyer I think...
If anyone is interested in my build, please let me know. MSRP 137k, 7MT, Ice Grey, RAS, Full leather with grey stitch, Burmester.

Nice T build - should be no problem finding a home for that.

I recently learned that the predecesor to the modern T is not the T from the 60s but the 3.2 Clubsport. BMW owned the rights to the use of the name Clubsport and Porsche had to look for another past model to connect the current one to. However, the car indeed follows the 3.2 Clubsport formula which is a stellar recipe: lighter, better suspension, same Carrera engine but as with the predecessor, it seems they secretly put in a little undisclosed magic. All of this is a very far cry from the "parts bin special" that many labelled the T starting with the 991 gen. The more I understand the car, the more I think it's a great value and a great car for me. I was hoping for buckets but couldn't get those either. However, your build looks proper. Don't give up on the car just yet. Wait until it arrives and see how you feel.

They only made 340. And what a great car! I can't recall the engine mods IIRC they were boltons including larger intake and was sold with a Carrera engine. My memory could be failing me but that's what I remember.

Google foo…21 imported to the us in 1988. Lightweight with no sunroof, no radio, no ac, no rear seats, fog lamp delete, reduced sound deadening, no passenger sun visor, etc etc etc. That car lost 155 lbs. Anyone getting some ideas?

When the 7spd was introduced in 2012, Porsche based that gearbox off of their PDK at the time and The 6spd was built from the ground up... Now in the 992 generation, I believe that the 6spd and 7spd are essentially the "same" transmission, but you are correct that the 6spd has different linkages and a more traditional pattern that make a smoother slightly more enjoyable feel. The nature of the 7th gear changes the pattern and therefor the linkages changed. I have driven both, and I think the 6-speed feels more "traditional" but at the end of the day we are getting to row our own gears in a brand new 911... I'm not going to complain! 22 days and counting for me!!

I'm pretty sure the 992 7MT is still based on the prior-gen 7-speed PDK. It was said to be greatly improved for the 991.2 and possibly even more improvement for the 992 - iow, it sounds like they refined the sh_t out of it.
