After 2 months sitting at port in Germany, my T looks like its on a boat to the west coast of USA. I know this forum is all about excitement for these cars but as time goes on, I am less and less excited about the T. It's not a value proposition at its price anymore and I'd frankly rather spend the rest on a cobra to sit next to my lotus. I am also sad I wasn't able to order the options I wanted during that first production frame. Anyways, it's either walk away or find another buyer I think...

If anyone is interested in my build, please let me know. MSRP 137k, 7MT, Ice Grey, RAS, Full leather with grey stitch, Burmester.

Since all the Porsche prices just went up and there are signs they will go up again, a first run 2023 carrera T seems like even more of a value proposition than it was before. I can understand getting frustrated - we get all this info on the production process, status, etc that always seems to be inconsistently changing. Getting excited about progress then getting deflated when dates push out with no explanation. OTOH, I've never bought a car where I had so much insight into the process. Ordered BMW and Audi built in Germany and waited 3 months - and the wait was about what was predicted when I ordered. But never got updates about anything until they arrived at port in the US. Once ordered a BMW X5 and was amazed to have my build delivered within 30 days.

Nice T build - should be no problem finding a home for that.

The last posted schedule for Siemens Confucius didn’t show a Houston stop though. Hopefully that has changed…

I know how difficult it is to wait. I’ll do my part to give u something special to look forward to. Able to squeeze in a couple more shots. I drove it a bit more this evening. Drives like a go cart.

I recently learned that the predecesor to the modern T is not the T from the 60s but the 3.2 Clubsport. BMW owned the rights to the use of the name Clubsport and Porsche had to look for another past model to connect the current one to. However, the car indeed follows the 3.2 Clubsport formula which is a stellar recipe: lighter, better suspension, same Carrera engine but as with the predecessor, it seems they secretly put in a little undisclosed magic. All of this is a very far cry from the "parts bin special" that many labelled the T starting with the 991 gen. The more I understand the car, the more I think it's a great value and a great car for me. I was hoping for buckets but couldn't get those either. However, your build looks proper. Don't give up on the car just yet. Wait until it arrives and see how you feel.

Thank you! Similar spec to mine. Mine arrives at port tomorrow.

I can see that connection as it was lighter than the regular carrera. It also had a blueprinted motor with slightly more power if I remember correctly. A friend had the only guards red one in the US. Very unique and very valuable at the time he sold it.

They only made 340. And what a great car! I can't recall the engine mods IIRC they were boltons including larger intake and was sold with a Carrera engine. My memory could be failing me but that's what I remember.

Google foo…21 imported to the us in 1988. Lightweight with no sunroof, no radio, no ac, no rear seats, fog lamp delete, reduced sound deadening, no passenger sun visor, etc etc etc. That car lost 155 lbs. Anyone getting some ideas?

Amazing car! There's a guy on the 991 forum that has gotten his T below 3k lbs. It'll be harder on the 992 but I think 100 lbs is doable without taring the car apart. Wheels, exhaust, maybe battery...

The nature of the 7th gear changes the pattern and therefor the linkages changed. I have driven both, and I think the 6-speed feels more "traditional" but at the end of the day we are getting to row our own gears in a brand new 911... I'm not going to complain! 22 days and counting for me!!
Hey buddy - super close to your ED trip now! You must be counting the days at this point. I got over 3 months to go but, on the flip side, it's been nearly 2 months since my build completed already - time is flying! Bet you a beer you'll have your car at home before I even get on a plane.

I'm pretty sure the 992 7MT is still based on the prior-gen 7-speed PDK. It was said to be greatly improved for the 991.2 and possibly even more improvement for the 992 - iow, it sounds like they refined the sh_t out of it.

Interesting tech stuff at "Found in Translation" here:
