How long were you at Emden, and did TYD update, or how did you find out you’re on a boat?

Looks like the ship is bound for Halifax arriving 4/27/23. https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9279812

I'll say it again: there is a serious disconnect noticed by me and confirmed by my SA between the ports and Porsche. In fact, my car supposed left Emden and went NW and sailed north of Scotland then SW towards Nova Scotia. Nope! It went SW out of Emden thru the English Channel then West to the port of Davisville. TYD showed the ship in the middle of the Atlantic yesterday but it landed @ 3:30 a.m. in Davisville and TYD still shows the car out to sea. Maybe when it gets back on a transporter the accuracy will be regained. Cool to a point Porsche but wildly wrong too at times.

I don't think that TYD is meant to be so accurate. I think it shows the middle of the Atlantic because it is on its way. It's somewhat more symbolic than literal tracking.

My car's incorrect progress was way more detailed "than out in the middle of the Atlantic" and hilariously and massively incorrect.

I don't know that we are on the same page. TheTYD location between the German port and the US port is symbolic. It isn't intended to show a location. It can't be wrong, it isn't trying to tell you anything other than the car is at sea.

Did anyone else get a survey from Porsche about the TYD experience recently? There were questions about building excitement, etc. I gave honest feedback. First, I appreciate having it. But timeliness of information these days is expected. So good effort but could be better on execution. Right now I can’t wait to get build pics (in a week or so!). If those get messed up, that anticipation and excitement turns to disappointment.

I won’t speak for the 911 since I don’t have mine yet…could only tell you what BMW does and I have higher expectations for the Porsche implementation. Looks like you will be able to answer your own question before I can!

They don’t make car commercials like they used to. Too bad Porsche doesn’t make more fun ones. Ha, I bought the Z because I wanted to be like G.I. Joe! Poor Ken doll.

If you watch closely, GI Joe’s got a manual. He puts it in 1st before taking off to pick up Barbie!

I got that survey. It certainly adds to the excitement but the inaccuracies also cancel out the excitement. I gave it a 3 on a scale to 5.

An absolutely amazing experience. Car park alone is quite the spectacle. While may be a cliché, truly is like stepping back in time. Very easy to get to via London on the train as well which is nice.

Would be hard to think of a dislike other than getting stuck with poor weather.

This is weekend before so can double up on your car events

Like everyone says, FoS is much more a party atmosphere. But pretty wild getting to see breadth of machinery going up the hill. Members Meeting which just happened last week much more laid back and limited crowds; plus get to see stuff like 80’s touring cars etc.

erick we are on the same ship! I too got an update on TYD that it has left Emden and got the ship name from my SA who confirmed this. Looks like it'll reach Canada on the 27th!
