Carmine or Guards Red @DDubs ? Nice pick up, enjoy. Like you I dreamt of owning a 911 as a youngster (9) when my uncle wheeled in to the driveway with one. 54 years later and I got my dream car.

So finally was able to take the new car for a long ride. I drove a lot of miles in my “old” T. No steering wheel plus. No RAS. Fit like a glove. Went from 0 to 33.500km in less than 12 months. Drove it like I stole it. Dirt and mud was no issue. Just loved to drive around and play around. Really got to know the car in detail.
But I fell in love with the new car. With only 6300km. The car smells like new. The manual shifter feels much nicer. Everything feels just brand new. The outside is shining so much with all the new black gloss elements. So I am a bit afraid to let her out. It’s a strange feeling. I thought my old one felt as new until I stepped into this one. The red one was kind of abused. This new girl feels so fresh I am a bit shy to approach her. Even though it’s just another T. It all feels different. So I was not able to let her out. And I really wanted to slow down with the mileage. So basically last two weeks not much driving.
But this weekend I was finally able to let her out and get to know her more. Drove around 200 miles so have a pretty good idea about the car. Now with steering wheel plus and RAS. The tires are the same ones.
As most of you know I am somebody who hated RAS. I don’t hate it now. Hatred is not the right word. To me I wanted to change my T because of the mileage and wanted something different but couldn’t depart from the T ethos and this beauty came by with all elements I individually hated but all combined made me fell in love. She really is stunning! But now with the RAS and steering wheel plus the car just feels totally different. And that’s something I like when changing a car for a new one.
But would I order RAS myself? No. There is just this strange unnatural inertia at some speeds. Like a slight bending of the rear of the car. You feel something elastical is following your turn-in commands. For that reason I don’t completely feel one with the car yet. I stand at my conclusion before: if you don’t order it you will not miss anything. There really is nothing to hate about the standard car. With RAS you might get disappointed. The 911 platform is just so good it doesn’t need these added things.
There are certainly some good elements about the combination. The car feels razor sharp. Mid-engined. Like on rails. Less understeer. I will love it because it’s a different car now. Can elaborate much more but basically all has been said already. Did not want to kill the thread. It remains a polarizing subject. To me a lot of confirmation but accompanied by a lot of excitement. Will definitely enjoy this car in the next few months.

I think the power steering plus just adds greater ease at parking speeds, does it have any negative effect at higher speeds i.e. above 80 mph? My OPC advised against spec'ing it.
I agree that the platform does not really need any adds on's. It's just so pure as it comes.
Keep the comments coming you are like a monument on this thread, your in put has been so much part of what Rennlist.com is about.
Your earlier post about RAS was just brilliant.
Keep us posted with your travels.
Best Devon racer.

good stuff. I am one week away from finally getting my T, (taking the ship, now it's just past customs and ready to get on a truck to the dealer) so looking forward to it.
@CJDCREW Please don't be despondent about the Goodyear F1's they are in my opinion and @Wilder as good as Mps4s's. You won't be disappointed especially in the wet. A great looking car in Gentian blue
@Mjc911T Most people get three minimum and in the early days even four! But I fear it is quite random. Whatever just enjoy the process and more importantly the car once you get it.
Best Devon Racer.
