You gotta pay to play. If you can't afford the car without free repairs, don't modify it.

Tool up and learn to work on it yourself and everything becomes hobby content. Maintenance, upgrades, repairs, it's all fun.

Where I am from they have government subsidized race fuel on tap all over the place. It's cheaper than regular, ~105 octane, brings it's own oxygen, stoichiometry adds a ton of cooling, Turbos LOVE it, and it's made domestically. Unless Porsche starts shipping cars with performance flex-fuel setups like the Demon 170, then modification to take advantage of this awesome life hack of a fuel is the only way to join the party.

My advice to anyone who is thinking of running E85 at some point, get the bigger fuel tank.

Tools I got(even metric) LOL. Yeah it use to be that way for me with previous cars, ‘72 Chevelle(loved that car) then a ‘74 Z28, then mileage servicing with all thereafter. Then along came my ‘15 M3, popped the hood didn’t even know where to start. Tried to install dyi a JB4 and almost killed my self getting in there. When did engine bays get so crowded?

But the rear engine 911 might be different, lots of youtube videos so one never knows?

Yeah sure big E85 users, use to have them as appetizers with my Dinan Stage 3 N54 on 93 octane. 🤭

@Pivot Glad you had fun the car looks smashing by the tunnel great shot, Goodwood is incredibly fast, and unforgiving, how did the brakes fare at the end of Lavant?
Best Devon Racer.

If they made it a smart watch, that connected to the car, and functioned as a key FOB, I think that would be pretty cool. Maybe vibrate your wrist if someone is messing with the car, integrate with their electric bike or something, etc.. I would be much more interested in that.
You need an Aston.

My first car was an 83 5.0 with a 5 speed and a 4 barrel. It broke often, and I was always broke, so I learned to wrench. Modern stuff isn't so different, now you just have to read/follow the factory service manual, have all the special tools, and "not reusable" isn't a suggestion. In fact while you are in there, just replace it anyway. You save so much on labor, might as well put that towards an even better end result.

Hopefully they were good practice for the 992.

I think we were early adopters, my 2003 hasn't run gasoline since 2010. 130k miles later and its still on the stock shortblock. Our 91 octane here is garbage, so it makes the choice that much easier. Ironically tuning a stock evo in my local actually means detuning it for the fuel. It knocks so much with the stock timing that the ECU ends up pulling way too much. So pulling timing out of the tune results in less knock, less net ignition retard, and more power. Maybe the 911 will be the same? I wont know until I get one and start logging it.

I hear British cars aren't that fun to work on? If they have that tech though, that means others will follow. So that's good news.

I'm not superstitious, but when I was researching the platform and came across that I took it as a sign.

My delivery date to dealership is 1 December so not sure why you are missing one. Maybe it will turn up. Personally I had no joy with the F12 hack (maybe it will work now?) and am happy to see 4 photos. Might be worth a try but I doubt it!

In Brugge right now and Ghent tomorrow, nowhere near Spa. My sport is marathon MTB not cars so more likely to be in La Roche or Houffalize. But in reality on a Christmas beer run.

Have fun on Monday. You have waited long enough.

All the best.
HI @celestequattro Thanks frankly I am happy to have just got 3 as some don't appear to get even that!
I am too old for all that Marathon stuff but good on you, though my son a few years ago ran the Comrades in SA. Good luck with the beer run.
Will report after Monday. Safe Travels. All the best DR.

Default RAS

Hello just a quick comment on RAS I finally was able to spent sometime driving my 24 T and I must admit it’s fantastic in twisting roads, it felt that curves were shorter and much quicker with rear wheel steering then my previous 992 911.

if anyone is on the fence to order or not to tick RAS on the configurator I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I agree with your comment, most reviews seem to like it as well. I subscribed too.

But some, many on this site as it seems like to idea of a more pure Porsche experience on the road with some but few suggesting it’s a benefit on a track. The T as presented is a purist automobile so I can understand all the apprehension. Manual, light weight glass, lowered, no backseats, light weight front seats and whatever else is trying to save weight is not going to include the weight of RAS in the eyes of the purist. Frankly most won’t get around a street corner to feel much different but at higher speeds at a track likely they would.
