This option is back. I swear it wasn’t there just a day or two ago…

Yes, it is back. Too bad my build is locked in already--and delayed a few months no less.

I wish Porsche would offer the lightweight options without the carbon fiber roof. I enjoy my sunroof too much here in Florida to give that up.

Well worth checking the box IMO.

Bumping this thread. Has anyone taken delivery of a coupe with this glass option since it was reintroduced to the configurator? Perhaps it’s too soon to inquire, but sharing any recent experiences would be appreciated.
I’m seriously considering this option for my C2S. I plan on configuring it with a glass sunroof as well fwiw. Thanks in advance.

Finally, some more details about this option, in the latest issue of Christophorous. From the sounds of it, there's not reason NOT to spec it--quieter, lighter, and less prone to break-in.

Just an FYI there is an entire thread in the 992 GT3 sub forum about how fragile Porsche’s lightweight glass is.
Numerous people have reported cracking their glass simply by leaning on it or driving with the windows down due to wind buffeting.
No way I’d tick the box for lightweight glass, and I’d pay extra to have the regular glass if I could.

I speculated that perhaps there were some QA issues that needed to be ironed out, which may have been cause for the option's removal, before it was reintroduced recently.
Another poster in the linked thread expressed the same thought, but who knows...

For wind buffeting, I installed the little corner filters by the outside mirrors. Took me less than 15 minutes and really helps with wind buffering.
