I suspect that Porsche specs the wheel offset to maximize the suspension's performance. Spacers seem to be a detriment unless they're to bring an aftermarket wheel closer to factory spec.

Wheel offset, to the extent it affects fender clearance, is not specified solely for maximum high-performance handling. For example, some countries mandate sufficient fender clearance for tire chains. This clearance comes at the expense of track width, and consequently, cornering ability.

I installed Porsche 5 mm spacers on my 992 C2S with Sport PASM. There is no vibration at triple digits, tire wear is even, and there are no negative effects on the steering.

Modest spacers can be used successfully.

Lowered and spaced. Have had spacers on countless cars including daily drivers and never once experienced an issue.

I installed +15mm F and +12mm rear spacers on my car. My car has stock SPASM suspension and has the 2021 front rim which is a 20x8.5 +50 offset rim (pushed out 3mm more than the 2020 front rim). As you can see in the pictures below, depending on the angle of how one takes the picture, it can look like the tire is either flush or poking out a slight bit. I think +15F and +12R it's just about perfect for stock SPASM suspension. These sizes should also look good if the car is lowered, though you can probably go +18F and +15R for a more flush look if you are lowering the car. BTW, if you are worried about spacers causing tires to kick up a bunch of dirt on the doors and rear bumper, the first two pictures are unwashed after driving through a bunch of rain. Can hardly tell how dirty it is.

Also, these are very high quality but relatively cheap ebay spacers. I've had apacers on virtually all my cars and never had any issues. I've used expensive and cheap spacers. I've always bought hubcentric spacers and installed them carefully torquing to spec in a star patter. Ironically, the only time I had issues were with the pricier H&R spacers. One was milled improperly and was about 1.5mm narrower than the other. I have had no problems whatsoever with these spacers on my 992. No vibration at any speed, no worsening of steering feel or any issues. Also have RAS and no issues whatsoever when making full lock turns. No rubbing or anything.

+12mm rear spacers. Looks like rear tire tucking the fender here...

But this rear picture shows it's perfectly flush

another angle... doesn't look like it sticks out at all

rear fender looking from the front...

some may think the rear tire sticks out too far from this angle. I think it's totally fine.

Front w/ +15mm spacer (2021 front rim 20x8.5 +50). Looks like it pokes out slightly from this angle...

OMG! What are you doing? You're trashing your Porsche w/ crappy ebay spacers! It's sticking way past the front fender!

Uhh... not really. As you can see, depending on a very slight movement of camera angle, it looks like it's perfectly flush and not sticking out past the fender at all.

Another front angle view. I think this +15 spacer works perfectly even with the more aggressive 2021 stock +50 offset which already pushes the front tire out by 3mm more than the 2020 stock +53 offset.

That looks really nice. Thanks for taking the time to post those pics. Also thanks for sharing the specs of the spacers. Your car looks nice....you look at it and you can tell it is slightly different from stock but can't put a finger on it. Spacers give you that ever so slight aggressive look.

Thanks

Found a few more pictures of the rear...

Looks like it sticks out a bit in the rear (again +12mm spacers)

This top down view of rear looks like it pokes out noticeably... but it really doesn't

It's all in the camera angle. This shows rear tire not poking out at all...

Looks pretty flush to me...

Can you post a picture of your rims so that we can see the how the spacers look behind your rims. Does it look obvious that you have spacers?

These were super helpful, especially since I ordered the same wheels as you did.

From normal distance you don’t really notice the spacers but if you look between the spokes, you can see them. Of course, the Carrera Classics are a very open rim design which makes them easier to see. If you had Spyder rims or even standard rims, it would be less apparent. But even w/ classics it’s not noticeable, though the wider flush stance is very noticeable.

Front rim normal view… spacers not really noticeable unless you are really looking for them…

Close up of rear rim - due to concavity of rear rim, spacers are harder to see:

Front rim close up… spacer is obvious here at this angle peeking in between the rim spokes…

Spacers are great if you like to sandblast your lower quarter panel's paint job and the rocker panels..

This is a bit misleading. I’ve run spacers for about 15 years on various M cars and NEVER had that issue; that includes two M4’s with the OEM rear fender film protection removed.
