My SA sent me these photos of my new baby when it arrived. I’ll post more formal ones soon. Love the way chalk changes color in different lighting.

Great color. It was in my final 4 choices and I think finished 2nd. But it does look fantastic.

Porsche sells twice as many 911s outside the USA. So most 911s leave the factory with clear side markers. The majority factory look is clear side markers.

Made the last minute switch to chalk on my 992 TTS with all gloss black accents (rear diffusor, rear side vents, rear side intake, front side intakes and slats, mirror base, window trim and side sills) after seeing chalk in person. Did the glass sunroof, exclusive design taillights and gloss black calipers as well. Have to wait until November for delivery but I’m happy I changed from CWM to chalk.

The factory makes them with yellow lights for the US market.. they're not slapped on at the dealership. /The End

You can lawyer this to death all you want... the single biggest market by far is the US.. and more importantly for me, it's the universe I drive in ... white lights look like a ricer'd out car out here.

This is a first for me. I have never heard a single person like amber lenses over clear ones. Nor has anyone ever suggested clear ones are riced out.
Dont you know that no one likes YELLOW TEETH?
PS: Asia smokes us in total Porsche purchases BTW.

Ricer'd out? for having the OE factory clear look? You realize they still blink in amber right?

And as I explained above.. factory for EU/rest of the world maybe... not Factory for the US (not sure about Canada).

funny because the SF Bay Area is crawling with 992's and 991's ... they're practically like Priuses and Testlas here... ubiquitous to say the least.. I can't think of one I saw with clear.. not a one. 🤷🏽♂️

well if you know anything about my spec... it's anything but... I was labeled a bit extreme and ricer in some of my choices myself here early on in the 992 process.. I also spec'd a C4S at $181K (got 6% off tho)..
But yes, you're right,.. most are what I call "Honda Accord" spec... or Gray on Gray with basic interior and options..

I'm a dentist - so, theoretically, isn't any car I spec a "dentist spec?"

The current style of side markers were introduced on the 911 in 1997. Since that time Porsche has sold way more 911s to the rest of the world fitted with clear side markers at the factory than USA DOT mandated orange. So saying the factory spec is orange markers is simply incorrect, it's the USA DOT making the decision to go orange, not Porsche. If it was up to Porsche AG clearly all the side markers would be clear and there are many dealerships here in the USA who will change their 911s over to clear side markers for the prospective owners before they even take delivery or the car is even sold.
