DIY Oil change

DIY Oil change
I have a 992 C2S Cab coming in January. I presently have a 997.1, Over the years I have been able to do all maintenance and many fixes myself using on-line instructions and Youtube. I imagine there will not be much DIY on the 992 until warranties begin to expire. However, it wll be good to be able to do oil changes and filters. Has any current owners tried this yet. If so, is it as easy as on a 997?

It would be nice to see a DIY video. I tend not to be too adventurous in my car until post warranty and then all bets are off. Even if you do not intend to do it yourself it helps to get an understanding on the anatomy of your car.

Much like the 997. Remove the engine compartment cooling fans to get to the filter. Difference is that the oil and coolant caps have to be removed to remove the plastic shroud wiith the fans on it. If you have a hot engine, you are going to lose some coolant. Drain plug is a one time use.

I bought this kit on Amazon for $10.50. Search for it by its Part Number.
The kit contains 5 new Drain Plugs with "O" Rings and the Tool to remove and replace the Drain Plug.

Wonder could you just use a vacuum oil extractor unit and change the oil from overhead using the oil fill cap? Have used the same for my wife and daughter's Audi's...anything that has an oil dipstick tube normally works. DIY oil changes are therapeutic for some and a bit cost saving!

No dipstick, dry sump, multiple oil pumps = not feasible
