Is there any big difference between Bose and burmester stereo?

The word huge would be an understatement to describe the difference.

I beg to differ. The Burmester is expensive and over rated. You would do better to order the Bose and have an good after market stereo install with sound deadening.

I have the Burmester and I couldn't even tell the difference between that and my B&O in my Audi. In fact I couldn't even tell the difference between the Audi B&O and my Fender in my VW.

What's the point? the point is unless you are an Audiophile you'll probably not hear the difference.

Sitting in the car with the engine off, yes. On road, not much.

THIS. To really take advantage of the Burmeister, you also should be using audio files directly off the SD/USB vs Bluetooth/CarPlay.
Bose is the so-called "Goldilocks" choice. The base system has no place in a six figure car.

Obviously, you did not approach or experience a true Car Audio Upgrade. First, be prepared to spend between $7,000.00 and $12,000.00. You will have a complete interior sound deadening, which is difficult and requires experience on the part of the installer. Then, a dedicated amplifier, with multiple speaker replacement including subwoofers mounted on the back deck.
I have such an install on my BMW M550. The sound is amazing. I am considering it now for my Porsche 992. The installer assures me that the sound deadening will make the interior remarkably quiet in normal mode and 8th gear.

I have a music background and honestly, whether an audiophile or not I’d only recommend two ways to go. Aftermarket or Bose. I’ve listened to all three options. The base is distorted, the Bose is better not great, the Burmeister is incrementally better with ribbon tweeters but not that much of an upgrade IMO. If you want great sound you have to go aftermarket. I’m not doing that for this car, it doesn’t make sense to me to sound deaden a 992 so I opted for Bose as part of the premium package.

I couldn't deal with the lacklustre Bose system and recently had a full aftermarket system installed consisting of;

Audison AP8.9 Bit 8 channel DSP/Amp
Nav Tv Zen TV
Morel Elate 9" woofer
Dynaudio Esotar mid
Dynaudio Dynadui M102 tweeter
Audison 10" sub/amp

Needless to say it is a vast improvement from factory. It's pretty impressive a 9" driver can squeeze in the front doors. Everything is in factory locations and concealed despite the Audison Sub/Amp that sits on the rear shelf but can easily be removed if required.

I'm going to try my best to describe my issue with the Bose I optioned in my 992. Bear in mind I have zero music background and I only listen to hip hop and some classic rock.

I'm not an audiophile by any means, so I'm clueless in this field so take my crude description with a grain of salt. My understanding is that the issue is not with Bose sound system itself, I think it more so has to do with the door panels of the car. For example, my second car was a 2006 BMW 525i with 160,000 miles on it that was a family car until it became mine, and the bass in that car sounded really nice. In my 2018 M4, I had the harmon kardon sound system and the bass sounded really nice too, I could really crank it. I think it's because the panels of the car were well put together? I have no clue. But in the 992, I have to have the bass on -5 on some songs otherwise it feels like every panel in the car is rattling. When I have the bass up to 0 or +1, and turn the music up to about 60-65% the doors are shaking very visibly to the point where it almost looks like it's going to damage the car, hahaha. I don't think upgrading to burmester removes the shaking and rattling of the car at the slightest hint of bass, but I can tell you if nothing was shaking or rattling I would have no issues with the Bose. I think it's more of a 911 thing which I really don't mind because 98% of my drive I have the windows down, this car is just a loud machine.

I've read a lot of comments that there are issues with the door panels and people take it in to get it fixed, I just hate parting ways with my car for a few days but I will probably do that soon because there are a few other issues I need to take care of. My passenger seat is stuck so when I pull the leather tab to recline the seat forward, it doesn't move at all. My passenger side cup holder is jammed and there's an intense rattling from the seat too. It's funny because all the problems are on the right side and no one ever sits in my passenger seat.

I have a 22 speaker Bowers and Wilkins system in my XC90 R Design that is pretty nice. I'm sure it is better than the Bose (a $1,600 option) and I want to say it was a $3,200 option that came with the car. While I do really like it I would not have specced it myself. But I bought off the lot with most of what I wanted. And got a good deal. As to the Burmester, I can't imagine you don't get what you are paying for, but I think it is over $5k and that is a lot without deals and incentives to pay for a car stereo. Though some do and probably love it.
