Default CarPlay Text Readout Audio Level Low

I have the Bose audio system, and while it can get plenty loud enough for music and voice broadcasts (more than enough to clearly hear speech), trying to listen to a text via CarPlay is next to impossible. There seem to be a few issues:

* It does not seem to play on all speakers (similar to navigation audio)
* Turning the volume all the way up as it’s playing back still barely cuts it
* It seems to reset, so by the time it starts playing, you can’t even turn it up to hear it

Does anyone else have this issue? Are there any tricks to fixing or is it another lovely PCM feature?

I have the same set up on mine, and zero problems. I can hear the texts no problem. Have you checked the volume setting on your iPhone? The Bluetooth output is variable.

Adjust the volume while CarPlay/Siri is talking. It gets a separate volume adjustment.

You should also turn the volume up on your physical phone, as if this is low it will play back quietly.

You'll need to go into the audio settings of your iPhone. The audio for text/Siri is separate from music your phone streams.

To adjust on your iPhone's text volume:

1. Tap "SETTINGS" app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap "SOUNDS & HAPTICS"
3. Under the "Ringers & Alerts" option, move the slider all the way to the right (Full Volume).
4. Make sure the "CHANGE WITH BUTTONS" toggle is turned OFF, so you don't accidentally change the settings the next time you handle your phone.
5. That's it.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I had that turned up - as it used to be fine in my SVR. But potentially the iOS 14 beta reset it. I'll check it out today.

Thanks for the answers everyone as I had the same issue myself.

Doesn't seem like that setting impacts the voice volume. I think the main issue is that it only seems to come from the center channel and/or tweeters...so there is zero stage to it. It's just a tinny sound coming from the dash.
