I knew about the lines on the hood / bonnet going back to the 993 but I didn't pickup on the headlights being strictly in the fenders like the 993 (versus crossing into the bumpers).
I was somewhat surprised at the tire pressures on the 992 (37-39 psi front [2.6-2.7 bar]and 48 psi [3.3 bar] in the rear tires). Sorry YouTube, but I still like the 992 the best.

Great review, and perfect for me having owned a 997.2S just like that one and now of course having the manual 992. Thanks for posting.

TH is the best. I’ve been hounding them for months trying to get a 992 review & they certainly delivered lol
Thomas/James mentioned more in-store in the coming weeks! So looking forward to that.

That’s always a funny take too. I’ve never imagined a sports car being too fast or too powerful; let alone a 911. I always got a kick out of it, especially in the 991 forums mostly with base 911T owners tuning their cars.

I think ultimately the underlying complaint is not that the car is too fast or powerful per se, but because the powertrain is tuned for maximum performance on a track, it makes the manual shifting and redlining hard to access on public roads, defeating the purpose of getting a MT car in the first place.

I'll write it again: I only have a 992 C2S MT because Porsche made me do it.

I mean I can see why though, especially with a manual transmission car. In an MT car, you are already giving up some performance for more "experience". It would be hard to access that experience on public roads by winding out the engine to redline and shifting repeatedly if by the end of third you are at triple digit felony speeds and far too fast for most canyon roads anyway.

That assumes that the "experience" is about redlining and going as fast as possible whereas for many of us the exact reverse is the case. For me and I suspect many others the pleasure in owning a manual car is the level of interaction with it, getting the shifts smooth and right, and avoiding the interference of computer logic into that process. If I just wanted to go fast I'd get a PDK.
Its a true shame the MT forces those that want it into an S. As I’m in the camp that thinks the MT is best suited for the base engine.
What I was poking fun at though, was those that decide against a more powerful variant. Opt for a C2 or T base car with MT and then later tune it for more power. When that defeats the purpose. It’s the experience and what makes it a proper drivers car.

The 992 ... it's not driving; it's therapy.
