Warning: I’m not very knowledgeable about engines and there is zero chance in hell I could install something like this myself. I say this because there appear to be a lot of car-handy folks here and I’m.........not in your league.

So here is my question: how do I get my car to sound like this without losing any warranty and without getting error messages and ESPECIALLY without failing my State’s emissions test? I live in the Chicago, IL area. Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I don’t know. This sounds very much like the PSE that my car already has...

To my untrained ears, am I correct in assuming that that whistling-like sound when you rev the engine are the turbos spooling?

Thats pretty cool, I definitely never hear that with my stock PSE

Yes. Its them saying hello to the world. This plus BMC air filters makes them even louder. I love it when turbos talk to the people.

I have had mine on for 2000 miles the get louder over time and change the tone. I spent 26 yrs in The Navy on Submarines so I was trained to detect variation in sounds and frequencies. I noticed it right of after install so did my Service guys, mine were the first ones there ever installed and said it was extremely easy took them 1/2 hour charged me 250$. Everything is a personal option but I think they were worth it.

Only #3 for me, 991.2 GTS, 992 C4S and I recently traded that one in on a 991.2 GT3. I was only in for 9.5 years all fast boats out of NLON/Groton. QM type before they switched us all to Nav ET's. Congrats on the 718! I drove one and they are a hoot! You'll be taking it from her lol.

The price gouging in this industry is obscene.

I’ve been quoted $420, $540, and my dealer said $1720!! They quoted 8 hours!

I guess my Soul cats will remain uninstalled till I find a reasonable person to do this. And no, DIY is not an option for me

It shoulnd't take more than 2 hours (if that). it literally is 6 bolts on each side. I bet if you take it to any muffler shop, $80 out the door is all they'd charge.
