I've gotten the nod from service to try a fluid swap (did that already) and upgrade the rotors. The PCCB route was going to sting and I've decided against that. So now the question is what aftermarket rotors to go with in addition to the new fluid I've swapped to, which by the way, has taken 75% of my gripe out of the equation now.
I had Girodisc on my last Huracan and they were awesome and trouble free for the entire time I had them. I don't see anything listed current from them on the 992. My EVO came with CCB so I am keep those on there.

Wow--that is an interesting data point. I'd hope Porsche would provide something better from the factory.
brake fade was present on my 992 on track also with Pagid RSL1 pads.
In my case the solution was swap front rotors with the ones of GT4
You swapped the calipers as well, correct?
The OEM pads are such garbage that mine front ones broke in half and detached from the metal plate. That's months after a single track day and i was driving around as if nothing was wrong. One would think the wear sensor would go off, but not if this happens.
Jesse - thanks for the update! I’m tracking this so that I’m ready to track after breaking this beast in. Will pm you when headed to Barber. I know that track pretty well from two wheels (profile pic is in turn 2). Psyched to try it on four.

Here's a peek out our Road Kit on a 992 C4S. One of the foundations of our AP Racing brake kit program is that we offer complete bolt-on solutions. Everything is in one box and comes from one place, and all the components were designed to work with each other. That means you don't need to chase a bunch of different components from different suppliers, figure out how they all go on the car, or 'massage' anything with the BFH to get it on the car. You can see our thorough (10 pages) instructions in the link below. It takes the typical enthusiast about 1-2 hours per axle to install our kits with basic hand tools. I like to think of our system as the easy-button brake solution.
We just installed one of our Competition Kits on a Gentian Blue 718 GT4. Below are a couple pics for visual reference:
Below are a few more recent client installs of our Competition Kits to show how they look on the car.

Just to be clear, we do offer 2-piece AP Racing J Hook Discs for the 992 that bolt on with the OEM calipers. Our J Hook discs have legendary durability and performance. They cost a few bucks more than our competitors on the initial purchase, but ours last longer, and you get that money back (and more) over the long-haul. The J Hook slot pattern spreads the heat more evenly across and throughout the disc, which helps with more even pad transfer, less judder/vibration, and longer life.
Not only that, but the J Hooks look pretty cool as well.
Customer feedback about about their AP Racing J Hook Discs...click the links to see them on our blog:
Porsche 991 GT3 owner- "These rotors were first on my GT3 then on my GT3RS, and we had 2 drivers on them for 2 summers. That equates to 70 track days at Mont-Tremblant...Lots of the sessions were back-to-back 20-25 min sessions, so 40-50 minutes straight with just a quick driver change in the middle. These rotors were used with Hoosier R7 and Pirelli DH slicks. Just a great combo!"
Porsche 981 GT4 owner- "I've been happily running the Essex/AP Racing rotor on my Cayman GT4 for a few years now. The reason I'm reaching out is that my current front rotors have seen 23 days at Circuit of the Americas running in the advanced student and instructor run groups...My dilemma is that 23 track days intuitively seems like a lot for a single set of rotors, and yet your article seems to suggest that they may yet have a fair amount of life in them."
Porsche 991.2 GTS owner- "This brake setup was amazing on the track. 0 Fade, 0 heat issues, smooth stopping, good bite. Just all around perfect upgrade! Highly recommend getting these rotors for an upgrade!”

Thanks for posting Jeff. Still no Mercedes support....
Oh man...you'll never let me live that down. Tell all the other Benz guys to stop waxing their cars and start driving them! Then we'll present some options.
I certainly plan to upgrade to your competition setup in the future. As for Mercedes, Girodisc is making a killing selling replacement discs for E63s. Just saying.
