no, not really. Only moves about once you get on the motorway so 70+ mph

Could be excessive caster. Stock alignments are usually very conservative, so I'm not sure why yours would be so out of whack, but I guess it's possible.

only owned it from 500 miles and 6 months old. So previous owner could have done something to it. I bought it from a OPC...

Take it to a good alignment shop when you can. Poor alignment as delivered from the factory is a story as old as the hills.

No vibration? Then it's not a balance issue, so people can stop suggesting that.

I doubt it's the fault of the previous owner, I had the same issue as you the same day I picked the car up!

Also, to the person that said this only seems to be affecting cars with RAS, I don't have RAS and I'm experiencing the same issues.

My steering wheel vibrates quite a bit at 70mph+ if I take my hands of the wheel. The car does seem to drift off to the right ever so slightly. These are Irvine, CA roads so they're perfect.

Mine does this as well, so did a few prior bmw's of mine. My best estimate is this is wide, grippy tires on a responsive car tracking the imperfections in a road. Try driving on a very smooth road if you can find one.

yes, said above. Tried it on a new bit of tarmac'd road today. Same outcome.

I have a very mild case of this, with around 3000 miles on my 992 C2S. I don't have RAS, and it doesn't look like I've lost any wheel weights. I'm starting to wonder if it has to do with the assistance systems in the car, most notably LKA.

My 2018 BMW M4 Comp felt planted at any speed I went on the roads I normally drive. Drove the car for 30k miles over two years. Not the case at all for the 992.

Yours sounds like a balance issue for sure, and maybe even an alignment (given that the car drifts, although that may be just the banking of the road). But balance, definitely.

Great, thanks man. I'll take it to a place that actually wants to resolve the issue.

If it always pulls to one side it’s an alignment issue. If it starts to shake it’s a wheel balance issue. Otherwise, with the massive tires, lighter weight and smaller wheelbase these cars simply tend to tramline more than a larger, heavier extended wheelbase vehicle thats made to absorb all the slight imperfections in the road. But would still do the usual alignment and wheel balance assessments for peace of mind.

Ive kind of felt this in the rain actually and with pavement that has any kind of grooving...which is interesting. NEVER felt it in my 991.2. Granted my Gtc4 lusso has a similar feeling and its also got rws...wonder what's up. Granted, around corners its epic and I've had the car up to about 130 and its stellar under that kind of load, so its something in its cruising nuances...

I've had mine on the track with speeds up to 130 mph and no problems. I would start with tire pressure like others have said. I run 31/35. Second, Pirelli tires suck and I would recommend Michelin 4S. Third issue with most of my cars is poor alignment set up from factory. I usually take my new cars off the lot and to a good alignment shop I use. Surprising how bad they can be from the factory.

My C2S (no RWS) feels “squirrelly” at speed too. The combination of unique straight line handling and enough horse power to get yourself in trouble does not instill confidence at speeds around the triple digits. I believe it is the nature of the beast, and some seat time is required to appreciate the handling. Point the 992 at a curve, and you know why Porsche wins races. I doubt there is an issue with alignment. Visit a dealer and test drive a similar car for a comparison. I have owned may M cars that were fast and very stable at any speed. They are different critters. I still own an E46. I can’t seem to sell that one.
