Anyone heard rumours of dealerships laying off their sales staff? Wondering what this will do to my order...if they've laid off most of their sale staff and this keeps going, I figure there might be a chance the dealership may not be around much longer?

That would be foolish. My relationship is with the PBA. Not with some representative of the dealer.

I’m sure I’m not alone in that. Hopefully dealers are able to access the SBA PPP program.

It's not rumors. It's happening everywhere. My dealer laid off all the sales' staff.

Sorry to crash the 992 thread, but I have a gt4 coming in June (well, originally). I am tempted to go with lightstream since it is an unsecured loan with no lien. Are there any others like this? I obviously want the best rate but what are the main advantages of an unsecured auto loan..I'm guessing, less insurance cost and easier to sell? I have always used manufacturer financing and keep cars the cars I have financed (Subaru, bmw), but since this is my first play into a more upstream market i want to make a good decision. Thanks, and sorry to hijack. As they said in Wayne's World, carry on!

I've heard of dealerships laying off 50-75% of the sales staff- wow doing it to all the staff would be mighty rough.

I don't understand why you would do this. Unsecured loans are useful if you have excellent credit and are trying to consolidate some other horrible rates or if you are purchasing something that can't act as collateral (like education). Why would you do this to buy a fancy car? The rates are going to be much worse and I would think (but certainly not know) that a lender would be very nervous about a car loan without the collateral of the car. The best rate is most likely a credit union.

Thanks jkwb for your reply. I got the impression that a lot of rennlisters enjoy using lightstream even though the rate is higher. Perhaps I am missing something. Any lightstreams who preferred them over a secured loan can reply or PM me?nthanks

Prosche Austin email a few days ago -- "We have great news to share with you from Porsche Austin. We are offering a special 0% financing for all new 2020 models for 36 months up to $75,000 financed for well qualified buyers. We extended this rare opportunity even further to our 2019 models at 0% for 48 months."

OH no... I've been trying to be reasonable and not jump at an expensive car purchase right now... but start throwing 0% financing at me and things change quickly
