- Bose audio is not worth it. Too loud in the car to enjoy any good music unless you are at the traffic light. I think it is waste of money but not sure about the resale value.
- I have standard interior and seeing full leather hurt a little. But I guess I still prefer to save $4k

All negatives so far because I am in the break in period didn’t enjoy driving it a lot
It just sounds like you are luxury car guy and not a sports car guy. I personally found that the one and only BMW I will ever buy or own (2017 M3 Competition Package) was the biggest POS car I have ever owned and worst car ownership experience I have had. A BMW 5 or 7 series is like driving a sofa.

A 911 is a sports car. Sports cars are loud. Sports cars have tight suspensions which can cause rattle or noises. Sports cars have wide tires which can be loud. Stereos in sports cars are kind of an after thought and secondary to the driving experience. If that kind of stuff bothers you, why in world would you purchase a sports car? I think the 992 could be a bit louder and less refined.

911s are actually very quiet, very smooth and very drivable as a daily driver for a sports car. I have cars that literally make my ears ring after 15 minutes in them. I don't hear wind noise, tire noise, rattle and etc. because I am used to sports cars and I don't look for or obsess about random sounds in the cabin.

Perhaps BMW 5 or 7 series is the car for you if you are more concerned about driving a quiet sofa and paying more attention to your stereo than the driving experience.

I can assure you that my 750i M Sport with Dinan tune is NOT like driving a sofa. It may not be a 911, but it's pretty amazing in its own way.

lol, it’s all subjective. It would feel like sitting on a sofa, behind the wheel of a large boat with tractor trailer like seating position to me.

It is a sofa... I own a 540Xi M sport and before my 911 it felt like a sports car ... now it literally feels like an SUV..

A 2020 M550i we drove was definitely a sofa. It also had a really squishy, comfy footrest -- the brake pedal.

Damn, but I wanted to like that car. Half the price of a 992 after discount ($70K range)...

You're saying your car was 36psi / 41 psi?! That's way too high.... by at least 5psi for both tires.

You're right about it being subjective. I'm 6'6" and over 250lbs, so maybe I just really like riding around on a fast sofa sometimes. But how great is it that Porsche has made the 992 roomy enough that I can hop right into it and be comfortable? When I bought my first 911, a 996, I had to buy a convertible because the coupe didn't have enough headroom for me to sit in the car. And my first BMW was an E36 M3 that I had to get with manual seats and no sunroof so I would fit.

Yeah, 6'6" is definitely a big guy in a 996 or earlier. The 991 started stretching things out a bit cabin wise which is cool if you have young kids and need the back seat. I raised my now 25 and 26 year old daughters in the back seats of 930s, 965s, 993s, 996s and 997s.

Reminds me of 2006. I picked up a 2006 Lotus Elise to instruct in as it had a passenger seat so I could take students and other instructors along for rides. My Cup cars did not. My Lotus/Porsche sales guy and fellow racing buddy was 6'6" and used to jump in my Elise at the track for rides with me. His helmet literally pushed the little canvas top up about 2 to 3 inches. Outside, you see a helmet shape poking the black canvas top up like a tent.

Comfort pressure dude, all day long. Change from standard to comfort in the TPM section of the PCM menu and let that overinflation out.

this post reminded me of my brief stint with a manual 17 991 that I picked up after trading in a manual 2015 M4 vert. Couldn’t wait to get rid of the M4, figured will go straight to the ‘proper’ sports car, 911. While test drive seemed fine, after only about 100 miles of ownership I realized I bought the wrong car. To me, 991 was too loud inside from tire and wind noise, it droned at highway speeds in 7 th gear, couldn’t open windows or sunroof at highway speeds due to wind buffeting. The ride felt too harsh for comfort, damping too stiff for North East roads and tires seemed to crash over road imperfections instead of roll over them. And there was no graceful way to get in or out of that thing. In short, I was less than thrilled.

Until I took it to Lime Rock and it essentially saved my *** a few times when I ran out of talent and paved stuff. Glorious track car, and what fun on back roads leading up to LRP. But everyday driver? Nah...there’s an app for that, called Panamera. I’m on my 2nd Pana since, and wouldn’t daily anything else (I’ve driven / compared everything else worth driving).

Best part, for the price of a reasonably spec’d 992 C4S, I can get a super duper all season 4 door 4 seater sports sedan Pana 4 + tuned WRX STi for track days. 😀

The 911 should not be comfy and quiet. The damn thing is a sports car.
