Always been an E30 guy but wanted to add something a little more modern to the stable. Bit the bullet and ordered a Carerra 4S with 7 speed manual, pasm, sport seats, full leather interior and a few other options. Went with Miami Blue and originally ordered it with the tan interior until I saw the Iceland green in person. Fell in love with it and had the dealer change the spec.
Doing an Atlanta delivery and will be driving the car back home (Fairbanks, Alaska). Estimated delivery date is late May or early June.
Also scored 7% under MSRP. My "local" dealer out of Anchorage (400 miles away) only wanted to give 5. Called around to a few others and just told them the situation. You give me 7 and you got the sale. Dealer in Vegas jumped right on it and deal was done.
Congratulations and hello from a fellow Alaskan Porsche owner! I plan to purchase a 4S in the near future as well and hope that I can work out a deal with the Anchorage Porsche dealership. If not, I will also be purchasing out of state just like you did. I'm on my 5th 911 and have yet to actually purchase one locally, so I hope I can work out a good deal when it comes time to purchase.
You really plan to drive the car all the way from Atlanta to Fairbanks? That's a helluva drive.

Congrats, and I know you will be absolutely thrilled! Hey, it's only about a 4,200 mile drive. ;-) You definitely should get it PPF'd before driving home if you can as that's a lot of road to cover without it. Should be an awesome time of year for the trip so takes lots of photos which will create a lifetime of memories.

Nice to run into a fellow Alaskan! And yes wife and I plan to make the journey all the way back home. Will be taking our time and probably spend 10-12 days coming back.

Paint protection film?? Yep...ordered that from the factory LOL
Not only buying a 911 in Alaska but driving it back from Atlanta. The cabin of the 992 is spacious but not sure your ***** will fit.
Figured I'd turn the Porsche into an epic experience. Besides once it gets here I'll only drive it a few months out of the year so my "high mileage" 2020 will quickly turn into a low mileage car by the time 2025 rolls around. I've got 6 or so other cars and maybe average 500 miles a year on them combined.

That should be an epic trip!
I dont understand mileage hang ups with some 911 owners. The cars are meant to be driven. Theyre not particularly rare and meant to be enjoyed. Why save it for the next buyer?
