What car is your 992 replacing? What car did it replace?
My very adult looking 992 C4S replaced my utterly juvenile, wickedly overpowered, fully built Subaru STI. It was a "Porsche-money" Subie with forged engine internals, cams, machined heads, driveline upgrades, different suspension arms, carbon fiber, and a huge list of nerdy modifications. This car was a teenage fantasy brought to life with middle-aged man money. :P Importantly, it was not a style exercise. It was very much a performance build -- handling and power. So, what are we talking about here? 453WHP/419 ft-lbs (about 570HP at crank) on 93 octane pump gas, oh, and the kicker, under 3,000lbs with a full tank. True supercar acceleration and third gear wheel spins at highway speed on Michelin Pilot 4S tires. I went with a factory team 24h Nurburgring livery, because a car like this deserved more than being a sleeper. It was loud, obnoxious, glorious -- and a grand embarrassment to my daughters, LOL. My wife would just laugh at how fast this thing could go. It was literally like driving a racecar everywhere. I owned the STI since new, but sold it to make room for the arrival of my Porsche. Do I miss it? It was entertaining, but it was time to move on.

NIce car...I like it a lot. Got an RS3 because of my relationship with the Audi dealer but I really would have liked to have an STI for a change as I never have owned one...
Our C4 will replace two cars: a 2012 Cayman S and a 2019 C43. Our pickup date is April 22 in Zuffenhausen, and once we get back from the three-week romp around Europe I'll put the C43 up for sale (the Cayman was sold last week). I thought an AWD C43 might provide 80 percent of the entertainment and utility of a C4 at about half the cost. I was wrong. Turns out (IMHO) a C43 is half the car at half the cost.

Thanks! I have an employee with an Audi RS3. He let me drive it around the Bay Area -- they're a lot of fun.

Cool. Interesting, in that you're basically consolidating the two cars into one that serves both purposes.

Yep. And a 365-day-a-year-driver. Decided to forego SD front end (which my wife and I both really liked) to maximize winter utility. Had a 911 GTS for 4 years with Aerokit Cup (a 350-day-a-year-driver) and got tired of replacing the painted front lip every spring, and having it mostly look like c**p the rest of the year from scraping. Could have done SD and FAL but decided spending 9 grand $Can. and still having to worry about the nose of the car everywhere we go didn't add up.
I'll be replacing this '16 AMG C63s with a 992 Carrera S. Order is in, and will have in a few months. The AMG has been (and still is) great, but decided t'was time to step up to a Porsche. So the AMG will go up on the market in the new year, and it's full speed ahead with the 911...
I'm going the opposite direction. A couple of years ago when I found out my wife was pregnant I decided to be a grown up and get a four door practical car but it turns out I just can't deal with the automatic (PDK) and it's driving me crazy. So the Macan GTS is being replaced by a 992 C2S.
Not sure it is the most rational thing to have 4 two door sports cars with two little kids but I think we can handle it since my wife has a practical Cayenne... Besides, my daughter loves riding in the sports cars a lot more than the SUVs...
