Sold blue 997.2. Planned to keep it but after taking delivery of 992 at the factory i loved it so much had less of a reason to keep the 997. Kept the 911 G series my dad bought brand new in ‘87!

Holy granola! What had you selling the Huracan? Was it just the 992 or were you looking to just change it up?

Not my cup of tea. It was a fun car and every female from 18-80 years old wanted to jump in and take a ride. Seating position was really bad, blind spots everywhere, rode like a tractor but handling wasn't good enough to justify it. The specs of the 992s are almost identical. 0-60, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile. You can actually travel for the weekend in the 992. Me and the wife had to ship our luggage when we took weekend trips in the Huracan.

But, I'm a Porsche fan. I've owned (2) GT3's and (2) Carrera's in the past.

My dealer called and said they had a Customer back out of their 992 allocation that just arrived, if I was interested to come take a look.

They gave me a great trade deal and coupled with a stupid low interest rate I really couldn't walk away from the deal. The also added a 992 GT3 Touring allocation spot for me.

Many years ago, after playing around with autocross and track days in two different Porsche clubs, I switched to bikes. After a friend was in an accident my enthusiasm for riding two wheels was dampened. Lately I've realized how much I miss having something fun and fast to drive, so I'm intending to scratch the itch by going back to four wheels. So technically I think this is my answer to the question because it really is replacing a motorcycle from a "what is it's use to me" perspective--namely something that is fast, is performance-oriented, can be driven on the street, and can be tracked. The fact I can road trip with my wife is a plus, too (although she's been a good sport about riding two-up on some motorcycle road trips--albeit not on the S1000RR pictured below :-)

As soon as a manual transmission Targa is announced, we'll be trading our 997.2 for one.

Still on the fence about keeping or selling our RS5 with a C2 cab on order, I think they are different enough that they could co-exist. Any thoughts?

They're different, but I am hard pressed to think of a time that you might grab the RS5 over your cab. Good cars with a bit of overlap.

yeah not sure when I’d keep the 992 in the garage for the RS5. Even top up weather, I’d guess the 992 keeps the RS grounded

Replaces an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio ... failed attempt at giving Alfa Romeo another chance... such an unrefined, uninspiring car...

which in turn replaced a 997.2 4S...
