I’m glad my 991.2 looks dated. I love old Porsche’s and I am envious every time I see someone driving a beautiful old air cooled, with no care to have the latest and “greatest”. Hopefully I’ll keep mine for many years.

edit. Photo of my old school interior . Also, I like the 992.

Sure the rear of the 991.2 isn’t bad. What about the interior, or the front?

So outdated IMO. But don’t worry - it happens to all the cars!

991.2 touch screen is dated for sure.

Ah, the picture 991 guys love to reach for. The 992 looks better in the below.

??? It's just the first picture of the 2 that showed up in my Google search.

The first picture of the 2 silver cars look very similar. I don't like all the plastic on the regular 992 front. The sport design looks better.

The second picture shows the square exhausts on the 991.2, which I don't like. The quad exhausts (below) look best IMO.

As I said, different strokes for different folks. Happy driving all.

Does anyone else notice this? Pictures still don't do the 992 justice. But up close and personal. What a beast.
Damn you’re killing me. I have a 991.2 C2S but I am dying to order a 992.

I grew up in a Corvette world, I have almost every issue of Corvette News Magazine from the early 60's into the 70's.

1964 issues are ads for body kits to "update" outdated 1963 Corvette's to eliminate the split window.
1973, 74, 75 etc... issues are ads for body kits to remove those ugly, outdated chrome bumpers in favor of the more modern looking one piece plastic ones.

Point is, what we see as outdated today, maybe favorable a few years down the road.

I've mentioned this before....We will argue here all day about the differences between the two models but to 99% of the regular population, each car is just a "Porsh" and they have no idea which is what.

So not much different than the 991 taking evolution in the wrong way from the 997? As stated above, the 997 wide bodies at least retains that bad boy vide unlike the non-"Turbo" 991s. I had 2 991 Turbos for DDs and just went back to a 2012 GTS for my daily driver.

The funny thing is, 996 owners were saying the exact same thing on this very forum back when the 997 came out. I suppose you were just not around to see that, but that was the general commentary when the 997 first started hitting the dealerships. The 996 owners then purchased 997s who then said the same thing about 991s, but your probably weren't around or driving 911s then either.

Then 991.1 owners were trashing the 991.2 on here when the 991.2 came out. So yeah, not much has changed. Another new model and another group of dudes owning the outgoing model being all vocal and negative about the new model.

Well, I am among the first in line for a 992 Turbo S despite aesthetic regrets.

Not only is the 991 rear design much more elegant and refined than than 992's primative and simplistic horizontal light and expanse of dead space to the diffuser, the interior center console is cartoonish with the nubbin and surrounding shiny plastic and that cup holder!!?? Come-on Porsche!

Let's go on the 993 or 964 or 997 or 991 forums and see this same thread with different dates and times.....and similar comments about previous generation versus current generation......entertainment......

I'm thinking Porsche guys tend to lean retro and always have. As a teen I hung out with my best bud (to this day.) His dad was service manager at the original DFW VW & Porsche dealer and Pal worked there summers. I remember when the first 911s came in. People were trying to make sure they got one of the last 356..." real Porsche's". Big heavy six out back!? It's a Corvair, Porsche has lost its mind. Really.
