What are the odds that Porsche makes the 992 Touring a completely separate GT model not just an option box you check off on the GT3? I envision dealers getting separate allocations for the winged GT3 vs the Touring. Different pricing structure, options, and of course ADMs than the winged version. My dealer doesn't do wait lists but already has buyers wanting to get in line for the Touring.

Seems to me that's exactly why they made the 991 Touring an option instead of a separate model...to avoid such shenanigans, avoid the VIP program, etc.

It’s a GT3 minus a wing it’s called an option.

clearly there are not enough 911 variants
they should make
touring
touring turbo
touring T
touring hybrid
touring targa
touring cab
and all of the above should be available with PDK as well

but all the above cars have the N.A. engine
that s why they spent sleepless nights developing the new GT4 watered down 4liters
but ppl here think there s a chance it will go into the taycan instead

The GT3 is now a product line of its own but you may have taken the extrapolation a bit far.
Can Porsche not help but chase the serious profits in these cars?
That is only good business practice and they get to put more focus/research money into the engine while the body has less of many things; weight, insulation, trim....and I'll even wager the MT6 costs Porsche less than PDK development.
I agree that we should expect more in this direction although they will still price the Turbo S over GT cars as a more expensive model to the voluminous amount of dentists who desire them.
....errrr... I meant "enthusiasts"

I asked a service associate at Porsche DTLA once why the starting price point for the Turbo and Turbo S is more than the GT3? He did not have a good answer. Something like "because it is a Turbo." Reminds me of the classic "An RS is an RS." Turbos are well known for being terrible in the way of depreciation. The GT3 holds its value much better than the Turbo. I know it is off topic, but I am riffing off of Perimeter's comment. Just seems odd to me. Okay, back to work.

His comment was that the Turbo/S had the most parts and assembly stations than any other 911. Perhaps that is a factor or maybe it is marketing....
