Default Base Model Delays??

Anyone hearing of Base Model delays due to EPA Certifications? My car just got pushed back 30 days and its not even at port yet. Its still on a vessel. I truly hope i don't have to re-live the nightmares of so many 992 owners this summer.

Haven't heard of anything so far. Just spoke with my SA and my car was built on the 21st and made it onto the boat on the 24th.

I did have an initial delay when I put in my order. My Sept. build was pushed back after they put my spec into the system (the dealer says this always happens when they change from a regular build to a customer build)...

That seems completely counter-intuitive.

BMW, for example, gives customer builds priority.

Just heard from my dealer that the base can't be sold until after 1/24. Mine is currently already enroute but will be sitting in purgatory somewhere between SF and PECLA until it's approved for delivery.

Are you taking delivery at the Porsche LA Experience Center? I know those deliveries can take longer...

Yep, but due to EPA it’s a release of 1/24 for everyone.

How long after they're built do they normally arrive to the U.S. port? I'd hate to have mine sit there for over a month. Who knows what could happen.

Mine is slated to be built in mid-November.

My 991.2 spent three business days from the port to dealership. I’m already biting my nails about my new car sitting around for six plus weeks now on account of the EPA. I’m extra glad I opted for Moe at Glistening Perfection to paint correct and protect the car now.

I was always under the impression it took around 6 weeks after it being built to arrive to the dealership. That would put it to arrive early January. But if it's 3 days?? It'll be stuck at port for over 2 months!

Ah, I'm sorry, I misread your post. From Europe to US is around six weeks of travel for the West coast, then a few days at the port here in the US.

Okay that's a relief.

Man this sucks. My car is going to be sitting at port for 3 months. Its scheduled to be at port this Friday.

I was thinking it would be in my garage in 2 or 3 weeks.

But hey, I guess after 10 years I can wait 3 more months.

I’m in luck! I just spoke to my SA. He confirmed mine will be produced in November. And it has a scheduled arrival to the port of Benicia at the end of January.
