I’ll believe this latest announcement when folks start reporting they have taken delivery of their base model. Mine has been hostage in Rhode Island depot for almost three months and I have absolutely no news about delivery.

I took delivery of my base Carrera yesterday from Champion in FL. It was at port since December. Think I am one of the first. Supposedly, yesterday was the first day they were able to sell. Can’t say enough about Champion. Car came in around 8am and I picked up later in the day. Love it and enjoying every min!

But I don’t think Florida is a CARB state. PA is.
Although I’m not really sure how EPA vs CARB testing works.

Great looking build! Congrats. If I see correctly, you chose the optional Sports Exhaust?

Thanks! Black sport exhaust and sport chrono. Had it on my 991.2 also. Great combo.

thanks man! I drive the S before my car got here. Honestly for the roughly $20k difference from a base to an S, it isn’t worth it. Get the base with sport chrono and sport exhaust and you can always tune it for way less. Same shell as the 4’s. Mine MSRP’d at $120k and got 6% off. Can’t beat that deal. The S is nice but unless you are tracking it, the slightly bigger turbos and bigger brakes aren’t worth $20k imo.

Congrats on your new car. It looks awesome.

While playing with the configurator if I transfer my options from a base C4 to a C4S , the delta is 10K. Porsche charges less for many options on an S than it does for a base for some odd reason. My spec is not over the top either. My spec'd C4 comes in at $133,470 while same C4S comes in at $144,580. In some cases the delta will not be 20K. In these cases the choice becomes a little harder. A tune will cost several K and one loses warranty etc.

Enjoy your new 911!

Thanks! Very true on the delta being less in some cases. The base is quick. Quicker than my 991.2 and handles way better. The S seemed like overkill to me but definitely awesome if you go that route. The sports package on the S encompasses the chrono and sport exhaust which helps pricing. Whatever you decide to do, you won’t be disappointed!

Looks GREAT. I think Agate Grey with Satin Black Carrera S wheels. Do I win the prize?

Fantastic car, and great rationale between the S and base model. Your exterior color combo is one of our top choices. My wife and I are struggling with the decision on base versus S. You helped. Thanks.
