Because it's technically a pole barn, there is no foundation or footer to pour. The bottom part of the wall (below) is the form for the side of the pad. That's the way it's always done with this kind of construction AFAIK. The slab gets poured last.

Looks good! We learn every day!
I guess it depends on how solid is the ground.

Puhahah. You should implement the 30 rule here. Tell her it costs 30% of the actual retail price.

The ground was excavated then 27 yards of crusher stone was tamped down to make it flat (using a transit) and stable. It was looked at by my concrete guy and he said it was going to be fine.

bro you have no idea lol , I legit told her this cost 2k to build . I implement that rule almost daily . Do it with my father in law too . He thinks I paid 60k for my 911 . I didn’t tell him it was 60 but I didn’t correct him either . He’s the type of guy who has plenty but would order roll down windows in a Hyundai if he could .

I tried to buy a new truck with roll down windows this year and the salesman laughed at me. However, I was pleased to learn I could still order a 6 speed MT though!

I think the often wrong assumption we have is that manual windows, for example, are lower cost than power windows. The above noted father-in-law could be surprised!
Given that supply chains try to make everything the same (process and parts), that assumption can now be wrong.

I guess the alternative is that manual windows would be easier (lower cost to repair), but that too could be wrong.
I know some of us want to reduce the weight of the car, which again may or may not be a good assumption.

Times have changed in how production and costs work.

Farmers/ranchers will often build a larger barn but only pour concrete for workshop/lift/ maintenance area. Areas of the barn just used for machinery or hay storage (as opposed to maintenance), get crushed stone only. Not saying that is what I would do, but I have some family who do this.

I am stealing someone else's quote, but my biggest fear is that I will die and my wife will sell all my toys for what I told her I paid for them.
