Anyone considered fitting the GT3 rear spoiler (lower section) or sports classic ducktail spoiler?
Not sure if the standard vents would be compatible and if it's simply a case of disconnecting / disabling the spoiler lift mechanism.
As Shogunade says we talk about this ALL the time... particularly those of us who were not able to option the aerokit which would've been cheap and solved all our problems. So yeah, the issues with adding an aftermarket wing are many:
They are super expensive - expect to spend $7K+ to buy, paint and install the Porsche OEM aerokit wing
If you want a sport classic wing, you'd have to get an aftermarket one because the sport classic is based on the turbo body and that rear wing will not fit b/c the turbo rear wing area is maybe 1/2" wider. People have tried fitting a turbo wing on a carrera and ran into this issue.
As you note, cooling is a big concern. All Porsche non-movable wings have large vents to push air into the engine. Many aftermarket versions do not and there have been posts where people install one of these wings and end up having less power and higher temps when driving the car at higher speeds. 9xx is making a sport classic ducktail that has the proper ducting and cooling but not sure if it's released yet and no one has actually installed and tested it yet.
Installing Porsche or non-Porsche wings are a cascading PITA b/c of rear third brake light and coding needs. If you get a wing that's too tall, it blocks the third brake light and you will need to get a wing with a 3rd brake light mounted to it... then you need to reconnect the third brake light from the rear engine grill to the tail... then you need to replace that rear grille with one that does not have the integrated 3rd brake light or it will look odd... then you have to code the car to prevent errors. You will also have to code the car when you remove the retractable spoiler as the car will throw codes if you remove the stock retractable spoiler. Even if you buy the Porsche OEM aerokit wing, it comes with some super janky instructions requiring you to re-pin the harness and even then, it doesn't work properly and you have to do more workarounds and good luck finding a shop that knows how to do this properly in your area. I know Flat6motorsports figured it out but they are in Florida.
If onty it was as easy as just removing and installing a simple wing...
Well, I asked my mom for a pony and all she bought me was a 911. So here I am.
Back on topic.
I started a checklist for things for the car (due in June). I told my wife I had to get a few things.
Then she was surprised when all this stuff showed up. Like she doesn’t know me at all.
We used to live in an apartment with a bunch of ducks. Well, not with the ducks. They lived outside.
But this one time, I remarked “There’s a couple of ducks outside this morning.”
”How many is a couple?”
“…nine.”
So anyway…a few part orders later…
Everything is in except the pedals, because they’re getting painted red, so that added some time. Should be in before the car though.

Those Numeric pedals are badass. Definitely post some pics when you get them installed!
WeatherTech Frunk liner - nice and what I wanted it has a good 2 inch lip.
Leather Brut key case - this has a quick disconnect which I needed as I don't want the fob on my keychain unless I'm driving the 911
Carbon Fiber - front mud guards - not installed yet, probably this weekend
Clear Corners - pre-installed, but like them
As for my kids, they are finally getting "it" and they are in their early 20's.
When I was a kid, I can remember getting our second car (a POS Ford Maverick). That was a big deal for the family. My kids have only ridden in Audi and Lexus.

huge fan of leather brut key covers. I have on a few keys, the one for Acura MDX is crazy soft and supple after some time. leather quality is so high gets better with age. I stopped using crested fobs, just have the ring (it and the disconnect were too much - maybe I’ll switch them though)
Installed Moshammer rear diffuser but a little bit disappointed in the fitment. On both sides there are gaps. It came with bonding but even after test fit it still seems there would have been a gap. At that price point of their parts fitment should be perfect.
