Rennline sells a tow hook plate attachment. I use that for the mule BMW, and have a setup for the 911, but its not installed. But available if pressed to mount. So far Ive only been told to display the plate on the dash when driving through OHare.
I need to leave my front plate on all the time to avoid ticketing in my area. Has anyone drilled into the front bumper without covering the camera sensor?
I asked Skene if their bracket is 992 compatible, and this is their reply:
"Feedback from owners of the new 911 indicate that the new cars still have horizontal black "fins" in the scoop below the mounting location. Unfortunately this feature of the car hinders access to the location for mounting the bracket, making the install very difficult.
If your car has these fins then it is likely our bracket design would not be appropriate."
I haven't been able to check the 992's bumper area to verify this, but if anybody does have any luck getting the bracket on, I'd love to know so I can order one.
Pretty much the same answer they gave me when I asked about my 991.2. For $70 I thought it couldn't hurt to try. Its great. sticks (2 sided tape) and screws into anything horizontal . I'm going to send Skene a pic . Coudn't take the look of tow hook.

That's great news, in that case I'm hopeful it'll work for the 992 too.
I ordered a "Zone Tech Bumper License Plate Relocator - Premium Quality Classic Black Universal Fit Front Bumper License Plate Relocator Bracket Holder Bar" from Amazon and plan to (when my new plates arrive) mount it just under the bumper under the (991-505-557-04-OK1) Lower Molding using the moldings screws. I'll post photos. The molding will need to be notched to accommodate the bracket, but I have a new one on order anyway since the one that came with the car was chewed up. I think this is going to give me the cleanest front-plate mount w/o having to drill the apron.
I looked at the Skene product, too complicated and they recommended the "Extra Short" for my 4S. The el cheapo from Amazon is pretty short and appears to fit perfectly.
We'll see...
[This idea didn't quite work and I actually found a better solution, see my post below]

Reason: Update
Has anyone actually drilled into the bumper? I dont have a problem with that. Id just like to know theres a place for the plate that wont interfere with radar camera, etc.

If you attach the plastic LP bracket that Porsche provides, it has screws and mount holes and yes, you drill into the bumper. I had the same deal with my AMG. The dealer asked if I wanted it mounted and I said yes. They sent a wazoo out with the drill and zip...zip...zip he screwed the bracket into the bumper using the supplied screws.
Now that I have the 911, there is no way I am going to mar that apron with holes created by screws.
So has anyone with parking sensors and the camera for the cruise control confirmed that the front plate can be mounted without interfering with those functions?
