My car is due to arrive at the dealership this week but my sales guy just told me there is a stop sale recall on all 992s for Canada. Parts aren’t due to hit dealerships until mid-September. Anybody else hear of this? Can’t find any evidence of the recall...

Recall announced early June. Cars made after that date could be corrected at factory. Completed cars probably at dealer.
It was also recall for US cars. Cars being delayed for parts? Really?
Emissions and nuts. Porsche buyers have faith.

Most 992 parts are not available yet - I have been trying to get the knee pads for months.

Companies are not supposed to knowingly pas on a safety recall. Recalls in Canada are binding in the US unless the manufacturer has data proving they don't apply. I expect these will be handled at the port for customer cars. The exception will be cars under Manufacturer's test plates that are on the road assuming they were built within the suspect population.

I wouldn't worry too much about the recall Only 3 units affected including GT2RS and the fix is to tighten the affected bolt(s)

Summary

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2019 911 GT2 RS and 2020 911 Carrera S Coupe vehicles. The bolts connecting the driveshaft to the wheel hub may not have been properly tightened.


Remedy

Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will properly tighten the driveshaft connection to the wheel hub, free of charge. The recall began August 9, 2019. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AKB2.

So not really an early adopter thing.....someone on the line not doing job / miss-calibrated tool ? ( after all , its not just 992 , but existing previous models )
Also show same for 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4 . A Zuffenhausen thing ?

there is also an electrical issue with brakes and steering according to my dealer today. They have about 6 cars and can't release any of them.

I’m now told it will be another 10 or 12 days for the software fix. Frustrating to be getting car so late in the season - will drive it for a month or two then put it away for the winter Should move to Cali I guess!

I’m in Canada and my car along with 6 others arrived at the dealer over the last two weeks. Most on stop sale due to battery issues which result in complete loss of power (steering and power plant). Doesn’t affect all VINs apparently and is a supplier issue. Affects mine and replacement battery won’t arrive for 3 weeks
