I like beating dead horses ...
another RL poster noted that ooo issue 9 had commentary on the “nubbin”. The designer said that it was not built to “shift gears” as that’s not its function. So they didn’t design it to be as such. The 991 PDK had the beefier gear selector but that one was clearly used to change gears. Nubbin does little and it is little- just gets you into D,R really. Of course , all gear changes come from the “ floppy paddles” which are excellent in my opinion. Interior of 992 grew on my quickly and now I love it. Would not want to go back to 991. looking forward to the manual tho ...

Being frank, I was 100% in the anti-nubbin camp all the way until I sat in a 992 a few months back. In my opinion, it fits the “futuristic” vibe of the car perfectly. The build quality is also pretty top notch — it just feels “solid.”
That said... the material around the shifter is a different story. I really wish Porsche would allow for full leather around the entirety of the gear selector area and not just the little area by the cup holder as the glossy black trim feels like it was left over from a VW parts bin.

I have the Aluminum and leather option on my Carrera S build. Much happier with how it looks.

I got to check out the interior of a couple 992 C4S's over at Braman WPB today .. very nice.
The nubbin is what it is but the interior feels much more upmarket like my Cayenne or the Panamera's ... and very livable day to day

Isn't that the manual gear lever?? What makes you think that is a nubbin replacement??
