Shame for that, something to live with until they change options.

I agree with your point regarding future owners and the 992. Including me. There’s a lot to like about the car. I’m sure I’ll succumb at some point. Again.

It appears that he’s been temporarily banned from Renn before even owning a car. I wonder if that’s a record ?

The shift paddles have a nice, substantial, weighty, but balanced feel to them. Pretty sure they’re some kind of metal, probably Aluminum.

There is a goldmine waiting for the fabricator who makes and sells an alternative, atleast until Porsche no doubt changes it for the 992.2 due to backlash. Don't any of you fine folks know how to 3D print with metal?

It ain’t that bad. Trust me. Ok, how about this , of the people that currently own 992 ( with nubbin as only option at this time of course ) - how do you feel about it?
To me ( 3 mos of ownership) ;
It doesn’t look so confidence inspiring but it feels fine , solid and does the job.
Im ok with it. I don’t need a change.
Maybe I’m in the minority.
Others ?

As much as I thought I was going to miss the traditional shifter, I really don't.

After driving the new car, within about 10 minutes, you don't miss the shifter at all. You quickly get in the habit of using the paddles and it is much quicker and faster, plus your hands never leave the wheel.

And to be honest, I was pretty disappointed in the nubbin originally.

The nubbin is fine. It’s intuitive. Given that the same part appears in Taycan, I don’t expect it to go anywhere — expect it to be unchanged in the 992.2.

I’d be perfectly happy with push buttons to select RND, but Porsche isn’t there yet.

It’s a non issue.

Garage door opener system is a much more meaningful gripe.

My only problem with the nubbin is that the P-N-D drive modes on it don't illuminate and the lights on the display are so tiny.
