I do have a reputation for getting bored of cars and bikes easily.

But the new 911. In my eyes it is just perfection for so many reasons.
In no order, cost, value, turning circle, speed, cornering, looks, comfort, economy, depreciation, engineering, value, style. It beats everything else hands down.

The unusual thing about the 992 is that every day I own it- it just gets better and better. Like my old, old cars.

A classic born in modern times? Yes I think s so.

6 months old at 10k on the clock. My C2 is just such a good all round car.

Adventurine with Sportex.

It really is perfection. That color is so sophisticated. Understated?

Then again, I love the 992 in all the colors Porsche offer. They are all good. They do not make a bad car.

That’s what makes is so difficult to buy one - too many great decisions to make and none of them are wrong! Great pic, thanks for posting.

I haven’t see one. I’m not sure that would work very well. I have seen GT silver with that combo and it is beautiful.

Default My Initial Impressions

I’ve had the car for three weeks but haven’t logged many miles. I’m now up to 500 miles, but I do have some first impressions.

1. I was worried the car would be overpowered and the manual wouldn’t be as fun. That was wrong - second to fourth gears can be fun on the back roads. Testify.
2. Transmission. The manual is greatly improved. I’d love hear a 991.2 “T” owner’s comparison with the 992. I wonder if they threw in the short shift kit. This manual is a distinct improvement.
3. The car handles superbly. Of course. Thoughts about it as being too big? As mentioned before, my narrow body car covers fit on the 992. It does not feel any bigger.
4. The droning tire noise is gone. Awesome.
5. 18-way Sport Tex - super comfortable, no
sliding around on tight corners. Loads of compliments on the design.
6. Love that the navigation instructions can be thrown into the center of the Speedo. It’s the same design as in my BMW heads-up display. That was a surprise.
7. Had to install a connected garage door opener to make my Homelink work. After that was installed, it only took a minute to program. I also like the geo mode that brings the buttons up to push when I approach the gate or my garage door.
8. I love the look of the matrix headlamps but haven't driven at night yet.
9. I washed my car today, and love these classic design rims. I could wash the barrels without using my long brush.
10. Took my drive with the sunroof open, windows down, PSE on. Lovely exhaust notes!
11. I enjoy seeing the hood creases and front fenders while driving.
12. Aventurine Green. Nobody has walked up and told me they like the color yet. I stopped on one of the backroads, got out, and did a walk around. It seemed to blend into nature... in a high performance kind of way, lol.

I am very pleased with this car.

My thoughts exactly, Dan. Had my car about 3 weeks also, same miles as yours, and also have used the myQ garage door opener. Glad Homelink is now functional.

A girl actually compliment the color the other day while I was filling up. Aventurine may not get a lot of looks, but it gets the right looks. Ha.

Lol, right. I am glad that you are enjoying yours, too. Let’s hope we have time to put more miles on them soon!

I picked this color because I thought it was elegant and wouldn’t draw too much attention so Im glad to read it doesn’t

Default If you only got one set of rims

So if you could only get one set of rims, which do you think looks better on the car?

I’ve ordered my 992 with Satin Platinum rims but I’m concerned I should change the order to black. I have a couple weeks until my order is frozen so I could change them now....

what are your thoughts?

here are my order specs

I opted for the Carrera exclusive with black accents. I love the way they look like a modern Fuchs. It just adds to the retro cue in my opinion.....but all black looks incredible on Aventurine.

They look like a modern Fuchs wheel because they ARE a modern day Fuchs wheel. Looks amazing!

Every pic I see of Aventurine with black wheels puts me one step closer to a totally unnecessary second set of wheels. Ha!
