You ever wonder why IMSA, Formula 1, and every other racing circuit doesn’t allow 4-wheel steering?

Faster is not superior, it's just faster.

Eww. The rotary switch on the steering wheel is a far superior solution, plus, it allows you to access all modes.
I stand by my assertion that Sport Chrono is the only option that you actually need. It's hard to sell a used 911 without it.

Since a car without SC doesn't have sport+ and individual mode, the two buttons still offer everything with one click, which is as simple as turning one click. It's a matter of taste nonetheless. Yet it's still a sportscar and resale value doesn't make a car faster or more fun to drive. If I had to make the choice between SC and RAS, I'd always take the rear axle steering. It's a much bigger gain in driving experience and performance than SC. You don't just get two actuators in the rear. Steering rack up front is also quicker, front axle setup is changed as the added stability in the rear allows for a different toe change over kinematics/wheel travel up front. Vehicle response is dramatically different, yet not even remotely synthetic (at least in the Porsches sports cars). Thus this is were I put my money.

Well, Sport Chrono does make your car faster/quicker and it's arguable that the additional driving modes make it more fun to drive -- it's all upside and your hands don't have to leave the wheel.
As I have posted above, I fully dig RAS and for the folks that want it, great. It does change the driving dynamics -- and not everyone wants those changes. That's why Porsche still makes it an option on most models.

I don't understand why anyone would configure RAS and NOT Sport Chrono. That doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Obviously, it's your money and your decision, but it's an odd choice to delete if you're budgeting options. Hey, this is how Porsche doesn't produce more than two 911s a year configured exactly the same. Whatever floats your boat. :P

They used to offer it. Didn't sell. Too bad because it was awesome. Tight turning radius in parking lots and at highways speeds the rear wheels were "in phase" with the fronts so they acted like the front wheels of the trailer if you were towing. Couldn't even tell the trailer was there! too bad people are cheap-asses.

ZF is developing such a system for trucks:
. Too bad no manufacturers are using the system yet.

RAS is now essential option for me having driven a 991.2 without it the difference is remarkable. Your also less likely to inadvertently kerb your alloys!
