992 needs RAS or not?

I couldn’t say on a 992...
No RAS for me, on my 991.2, driven both, personally like the more traditional setup. RAS feels more capable, no wrong answers.

Janko briefly compares 992 S with RAS and without RAS:
Summary: not as big a difference as on 991.2 but still very noticeable and makes car feel different. An option definitely worth getting.

edit: I still plan to opt out, but his view is the kind of data I’ve been waiting for.

So Monday I test drove a 992 without RAS, I hopped out of my 2019 Targa GTS with RAS and hopped right into a new 992 C2S without and I definitely would not spec it without RAS. I was spoiled by it when it first released on the GT cars and now I order it on my non-GT cars and its noticeable. The turn in while not significant or dramatic is noticeable enough to be like "well thats different.."
the nose dives in with RAS vs it takes the longer way around without..

^^^+1 I drove 2 991.2's back to back before buying my GTS: one with/one without. With feels somewhere between old 911 and Cayman. Without, feels like a more typical 911. On the current chassis, I think it is absolutely must have. For those in doubt, I would highly recommend test driving both. There is a distinctive difference in feel of the car.

It's an option that can have a huge positive effect on the dynamics of the car. At the same time, it's also an option that you don't actually need.
If it wasn't for the 911 fanbase, Porsche would likely just commit to making it a standard feature of the car. With that being said, if you are a traditionalist and getting a 911 for 911 reasons, you're totally right to NOT check off that RAS box, because while it enhances driving dynamics, it also does indeed take a little away from the character of the car.
If you want RAS, get it, but it doesn't mean that your build is objectively superior to a car that didn't spec it.
If you don't want RAS, totally cool, but do appreciate that RAS is effective and those cars are not inferior specs.

Without SC you get explicit buttons for Wet and Sport mode in the center console. No need to fix anything, no touchscreen needed.
