Black rims on chalk...Glossy, Metallic or Satin?
Newbie here. Haven't owned a Porsche for 20 years...drifted to other stuff, now happy to be back. Config for 992 Cab due on 4/20. Going with Chalk (I know its polarizing), SD package (maybe add side skirts), black roof, no badge and black wheels. Having the hardest time deciding between glossy, metallic (which I haven't seen) and satin. Florida car, so plenty of light.
Anyone have pics of metallic? Satin shows more depth to the wheel, but maybe trying a bit a bit too hard to be sporty on my lowly S? Glossy (below) seems to have more of a lux look (against the Chalk), which may be more appropriate for a pdk cab? That said, I'm a bit lost. All opinions appreciated!

I selected a different exerior color, but I had the same question on wheel color. My dealer explained it to me this way. Metallic is grayish black, Satin is a matte finish black and never looks clean, and gloss black needs to be cleaned all the time to look good. With chalk, I’d go with either satin or gloss. If you selected the gloss black calibers then I’d go with gloss black wheels.

Thanks...for reference, here's satin black. Personally, to my eye, the satin platinum (in fact any form of grey or sliver) looks washed out on chalk (better on a darker color)...appreciate we all see it differently...

This is my first 991, so I decided to be bold. I went with Lava Orange with glass top, black interior, black exhaust, gloss black wheels and black calibers. I do love the chalk with the burg/black interior. Good choice.

Here is how my (light ivory, not chalk) GT3T looks with satin platinum rims. I have black rims on my agate grey GTS. I am very happy with the way it turned out with the light ivory and satin platinum. It also "matches" the GT silver seat belts, GT silver deviated stitching and the silver-black houndstooth inserts moreso than the black rims would have.

Bold, but simple...sounds sharp. Understand why you would go with black calipers.

Agreed. I had Satin on my 991.2 C4S for all the previously discussed reasons. They look dirty most of the time and when clean, they stay clean for a very short period only. I have gloss black on my other car - which appears to have more pop for most of the time. Satin - never again!

Three Wheelin'
Id go satin. Gloss will look dirty in about 4 blocks.

I think the point about the kind of build is key. So, cab, light color, burg interior, pdk, Florida...it's more a new version of fast 60's Cadillac than a track car. Gotta be gloss!
