I got a few bucks under $10k off on my ordered GTS: I do not have what I do today by giving it away yesterday.

I shopped out 4 dealerships in NC when buying the 992 and all of them started with $5k off MSRP.
If you are in the market don't settle for anything less. I was able to work -$7k but was trading in a 2018 Huracan with a high MSRP. The dealerships were very scared to make a deal work out because of the Huracan. So that was my disadvantage due to owning a Huracan in the Carolina's. Zero Market for any high end cars in NC. If I looked in Cali or FL where the Huracan's are a daily driven car then all the dealerships wanted MSRP + $3 - $5K mark-up
I also bought a dealer allocation and spec 992. Which turned out to be more optioned than I would have of course.

Agree. You can get a deal if you have prior history or are willing to poke around in Southern California, but the dealers up here are pretty apathetic in terms of providing service and discounts. Not saying it’s impossible, but it’s definitely not the norm. Most of my colleagues in the area who have Porsche GTs have landed up using a broker because there were dealers wanting $70k+ over asking for a Touring allocation, even with prior history.

10-12% off on a 992 is not credible. Dealer invoice is around 10% plus there is an additional 2.5% at end of year so why would they make no money on a brand new car? Just point me in the direction where I can get that deal.

Three Wheelin'
he must be talking about 2018's still on the showroom or 2019's... there is no chance any 992 anywhere is being sold for 12% off... won't be for a few years.

Has anybody purchased from a dealer in a different state from where they live and then take delivery at a Porsche Experience Center? I'm curious as to where the inspection, delivery, etc is performed. Example: If I live in SoCal but order from an east coast dealer is the car delivered first to the dealer, prepped then shipped or does it go right from the boat to the Experience Center?

Many here have! FL dealers give nice discounts and buyers take delivery at PEC in Atlanta or LA. One can also do "Courtesy Delivery" where the car is ordered from a dealer other than the one you take delivery from. Porsche pays the receiving dealer up to $600 for the PDI - talk to a SA for details and to make arrangements. Not all dealers participate though but just mentioning it to one may help get you a better discount if they think you may buy somewhere else.

Thanks again.
IMO; seems like a no brainer as the dealer doesn't seem to add much value for a buyer that knows what they want. I'm not picking on the dealer, it's just that the model is fusty, hasn't kept pace (ie: music, movies, books, etc).
I haven't owned a Tesla so not certain if people like that approach but my kids would prefer to order their cars online, never having to deal with a person. I still prefer a handshake but reading through this forum, I'm not certain that makes sense anymore.
(This isn't meant to ruffle the feathers of the SA's reading this forum, just an observation)

soguiness,
agree, a knowledgeable SA can help with the myriad of options but I'm not certain for even this type of car that we aren't able to figure out what we need. As an example, would you let the SA dictate color? Another contributor in the 992 forum talked about ordering what you want and be damned with what the SA or other posters might say. The SA would certainly offer an another opinion; PDK vs Manual, RAS and FAL ..... but we are the ones that will sit in the car (DD or even just for Sunday's).
Porsche dealers are better than average for SA retention but for me 2 out of 3 have changed since my last shopping experience a few years ago.
