This is true ^^^

Hard to screw up ordering a Tesla, but could live with lifelong regrets building a Porsche.

I’m regretting not getting PCCB’s after finding out how expensive they are to install by a dealer. $9k with the build or $25k+ dealer installed!

IMO; seems like a no brainer as the dealer doesn't seem to add much value for a buyer that knows what they want. I'm not picking on the dealer, it's just that the model is fusty, hasn't kept pace (ie: music, movies, books, etc).

I haven't owned a Tesla so not certain if people like that approach but my kids would prefer to order their cars online, never having to deal with a person. I still prefer a handshake but reading through this forum, I'm not certain that makes sense anymore.

(This isn't meant to ruffle the feathers of the SA's reading this forum, just an observation)
I have negotiated and ordered cars online many times without meeting or talking to the salesperson until I got the car - the handshake comes when we meet the first time and once more before I drive away!

It will be tracked indeed! 🥳

It will also be tuned!

My original plan was to wear out the stock brakes and upgrade to PCCBs later until I found out how much that will be

that's why I sprung the $9K up front... they're in fact $30K breaks when added from scratch

One can always buy as new take-offs for a fraction of new and sell their OEMs and wind up paying about the same as OEM, which is what I did.

I couldn’t believe it. I’m glad I checked when I did. I’m going to see what my SA can do about adding them.

It goes directly from Germany to the Experience Center. Never sees the ordering dealership. Your sales associate sets everything up at the time of order and once the car finishes production, a Porsche rep will help schedule exact delivery date. I work in the Midwest and have done it for multiple west coast clients.

As an OEM option, the PCCBs is one of biggest a la carte bargains Porsche offers.

When I was working on the list of what I needed for installing my PCCB take-offs the cost from the dealer for everything would have been closer to $33k so if yes, if one wants them new on the car I agree!

I’m now in the process of getting them added. My SA said he is going to call on it today.

since your build isn't locked, that is a smart choice... my research leads me to believe these brakes could outlast the car's lifetime... and considering how much I hate break dust, that alone makes the money worth it.

Curious how the dealer model works; do they have an allocation of cars for the year or is it 'first come first serve' basis?
If its based on allocation (x cars/year) then I can see why a dealer would want to limit the discounts given to outside their state.

Allocations are usually issued in batches throughout the model year and based on many variables such as past performance, etc. They can also earn more allocations based on how many they sell during the year.
