Just wondering if anyone had this experience

Targa 4 GTS PTS allocation initially scheduled for December delivery (this month).

For whatever reason it was delayed to January and then February. On the TYD, it said that I need to “contact my dealer…” for delivery.

my SA told me it is likely going to be starting to be built February but on TYD there is no established date.

I read somewhere there is no PTS for 2023…

I’m not sure now if my car is going to get built in Q1 2023.

@jam16 I have the same notification on my TYD. Originally, it was scheduled for February delivery since I am doing ATL PEC. However, I think I am the only one here that wishes my car to be delayed. I live in the NE and would prefer to pick it up in the spring vs. snowy winter.

Have you tried asking PEC Atlanta if the will allow you to reschedule for when it suits you better?

PEC ATL will only schedule “as soon as the next available slot” is available. And does not keep your car for extended periods of time. But because PEC is so backed up, typically it is taking 1-1.5 months after the initial TYD estimate. Which works in my favor. But also now that it is further delayed since I no longer have an estimated delivery date, it compounds into my car being further delayed.

Anytime after mid-March delivery I am happy with.

Well, I hope it all works out for you. I'm picking up my second car from there in 2 weeks. Can't wait. Good luck.

Great to join you all! Confirmed allocation for a Carrera T with delivery scheduled early spring on track your dream. The build hasn’t locked yet, but here is what I currently have submitted. Open to any thoughts and look forward to the conversation.

NICE! When did you receive your confirmed allocation? What city, state is the dealer in? What month are they estimating delivery?

I'm curious about the roof transport prep. Why? Do you mount stuff?
What does it give you?

Thanks! Will PM you the details

I like the idea of having the ability to roof mount. The T will be my year round car - some added function couldn’t hurt for $60!

@Butzi901 Great build! And congrats on the allocation! Love it that you plan to use it year round.

Received my allocation for a C2S last week. Very exciting. Have been waiting almost a year. Previous car was a 997.2 manual Turbo.

My build locks Dec 16th, but my SA mentioned that Porsche Canada had instructed them to finalize the build asap. Basically saying it is locked. Mentioned they are trying to avoid delays. Has anyone heard of this?

Anyways, it is a January 06/22 production and shows Halifax port entry January 27th.

This seems optimistic?

Interesting build for a Carrera T.
What made you chose a T over a base C2?

I’ve gotten that question a few times; some of my reasoning…
  • The T is more “unique” than a C2
  • Every option that comes on the T I would have specced on a C2 anyway
  • T specific options (rear seat delete, lightweight glass, removal of sound deadening etc.) are all important to me
My conservative S build is $145k and missed features my current T spec includes. That said, coming from a 997.2 C2S, the T fast is enough for me too. Just fits all my constraints.

I respect the view that the T is meant to be lightly specced, without the power folding mirrors, etc., but for me living with this car year round in/out of a big city, I’m comfortable straying from the car’s true form a bit for my own personal enjoyment. It may be the only T with Burmester, but that’s the beauty of Porsche! The best spec is the spec you love

So if I have V200 but no email from Porsche about TYD I should check in with my SA? or is it still early

Why didn’t you go with the leather interior. Seems appropriate for a 130K car.
