Official waiting room for those with a new 992 on order --- come on in !!
I hate these rotten Storms. Hopefully it won't be too terrible for anyone. I heard from PEC last week I think it was. Everything is firmed up, even managed to get the same guy for the track part of the day that we had last year. He turned out to be their lead driver and races professionally so that's a score. I can't wait to see the look on my baby girl's face when she comes off the track. I give my track time to my kids-yes I know I'm crazy, but I love my kids. She just turned 21 and is a pilot and loves to go fast. It all worked out perfectly cause we go to Atlanta a couple days after she finishes her semester exams. Should be a great trip...just hope the weather cooperates like last year cause it was absolutely perfect. Anyway, I hope the bad weather passes you by Saturday and that you have a perfect day when you get your new car. Have fun!
Here she is💙💙💙

My car was delivered yesterday. I was expecting many let downs in the process based on what I read on this forum and elsewhere, but my dealer was awesome and the process could not have been smoother. I ordered the car the last weekend in June and paid MSRP. My freeze day was the beginning of September and my car was built the first week in October. On the ship mid October and arrived in Jacksonville the end of October and at my dealer November 5. Altogether, the process took 4 months and a week. No surprises. The only slight let down was the manual steering column, but not a big deal at all.

Came with the Goodyear Eagles which I am fine with. The dealer said the matrix lights were activated. I have not driven it yet so I cannot verify. The dealer was kind enough to flatbed my car to the ship I chose to put on the paint protection film, ceramic coating and window tinting. I will actually get to drive the car for the first time this weekend.
Took delivery yesterday and could not be more pleased. Going back tomorrow to throw the clear side markers on and get the winter tires put on but man what a car. Best of luck to everyone waiting - just know it is worth it!!!!

If this has been discussed and I missed it my apologies, but I received and allocation on Saturday 11/5 for a 911 GTS coupe. I inquired about the TYD process and when I might expect it to fire-up. My salesman said it will be a little bit given the car needs to be closer to production/VIN assignment. Fast-forward to today I get the TYD email. Is this timing normal, or is this a sign that things are progressing nicely? Or is it my excitement clouding my judgement?
Not unusual. The email comes from Porsche not the dealer. But nothing will change much until closer to production of course. This does tell you that you actually have an allocation. The dealer can also print out a one page report giving you all the relevant dates - albeit estimates that are not always accurate but still fun to put in a calendar.
waiting for the car is a big part of the fun. Don’t forget to drive the SA crazy by changing your options and colors etc. — the important date is the “lock” date as after this date no changes to your configuration are possible.

You usually get the TYD email between a few days and a couple weeks after getting the allocation and order placed. Don't want to freak you out but my TYD email to production was about 5 months though my path may have been an outlier.

I just came back from Germany and got to tour the Taycan and 911 factories. They are running full tilt and making about 250 cars per day 5 days per week of each type. However 1 out of 3 Cars are shipping to China. They talk about supply constraints but it seems to be more demand driven. Us is second largest market following Germany. Fun fact, there really are beer vending machines in the break rooms for the employees. Saw lots of gt3’s and targas being assembled.
