Priced out a 2020 Carrera S and yowwwwwie
You know what I find interesting? The new C2S is priced about $7k UNDER the 991.2 GTS. The 992 is a widebody car with the same engine, essentially (except the piezo injectors, etc.)- essentially the same peak power and peak torque, and same redline of 7500 rpm. Peak power is achieved at the same 6500 rpm.
So basically, excluding any crazy Alcantara and maybe some Sport design front end, the new S IS a GTS. I priced one out the way that I would want it and-- $167k. $52k in options. This includes Chalk, PCCB, PDCC, rear axle steering, Night vision assist, and of course the Alcantara roof liner. The painted interior trim option is also very cool. Not too sure about this generic looking tach though.
I got my 991.2 Turbo for roughly $170k after discount, brand new. Not sure I'm ready to give up 100 horsepower and 130+ lb-ft for a similar price?

Basically you have to choose either most of the good performance options and very few comfort/tech options, or most of the good tech/comfort options and very few performance options. I can easily spec a 130K car that I’d be very happy with, but that’s because I don’t plan to track my car so I know things like PDCC and ceramic breaks aren’t going to do anything for me. As a daily driver I’d rather pick up a few creature comforts and at best I’d maybe pick up sport exhaust or rear axle steering because they’d benefit me on a daily basis.

Waste is what you don’t use ........just PCCB’s puts you at 10k so you’re think is after brakes 5k left what car did you configure. Most buyers don’t want a stripper unless it’s a dedicated track car, and these are DD’s.

It is easy to build a less pricy one. I get everything I want and more than I need at $!45.
That said, I continue looking for a low mile 17 0r 18 Turbo for exactly the reason you cite. They strike me as the best of many worlds.

And you are on the forums for what reason? Spending more than $15k on options is a waste, really? Money is relative and mine had about $26k in options and none of them are a waste to me. And if I wanted a 3 series I would get one and not sacrifice on options for my 911.
