You know what I find interesting? The new C2S is priced about $7k UNDER the 991.2 GTS. The 992 is a widebody car with the same engine, essentially (except the piezo injectors, etc.)- essentially the same peak power and peak torque, and same redline of 7500 rpm. Peak power is achieved at the same 6500 rpm.
So basically, excluding any crazy Alcantara and maybe some Sport design front end, the new S IS a GTS. I priced one out the way that I would want it and-- $167k. $52k in options. This includes Chalk, PCCB, PDCC, rear axle steering, Night vision assist, and of course the Alcantara roof liner. The painted interior trim option is also very cool. Not too sure about this generic looking tach though.
I got my 991.2 Turbo for roughly $170k after discount, brand new. Not sure I'm ready to give up 100 horsepower and 130+ lb-ft for a similar price?

I guess it is true that some folks did go from a 997TTS to a 991S. But Lord that’s a 130 hp reduction and loss of AWD and variable turbine geometry. Seems a lot to give up but the interior enhancements and PDK, wheelbase improvements etc. were important.
As for electric cars, they’re coming, and maybe in 15 years the sport exhaust will be a memory.
And that makes me sad.

Have you driven a car with RAS, and I mean more than in a straight line? I did before I ordered and I felt it was well worth $2k, along with the majority of others that frequent this forum.

In the UK, only available as a PDK hard top C2S or C4S for now so by the time a Cab is available, the differential from my 991.2 will be prohibitive. Having said that, the price configurator makes the 992 C2S actually cheaper than the outgoing 991.2 equivalent when you take into account that standard price now includes stuff previously on options list. That includes PDK cos manual not available yet.

Prices are close to being at the ceiling where people say, let's look at something else or it doesn't make good financial sense unless you write it off for a business or have a car allowance through work that pays for it...... and there is enough of that so Porsche will sell a ton regardless)

I am sure there are many of us that use their 911s for pleasure only such as dinner out on the weekend, a ride to a car show, weekend getaway, etc. and nothing else. That is how I use it and my friend across the road with a Boxster S does exactly the same...I would venture there are more of us than what you describe.
