I need to stop clicking on this thread. Every time I do I re-think how much I love @T1M3LESS911 's 527s and want to buy them. Such a great setup!
Love that wheel setup! What’s there to think about? I’m selling the set for less than 10k.. wheels, tires and TPMS included.
Wheels alone are ~$13K new in 21/22 and in polished clear / brushed clear finishes. (I already sold my 992)
but kidding aside, I do hope that someone from here picks it up. I feel like us enthusiasts, who like to mod the car, especially in the Porsche world, are a rare breed. There seems to be more Porsche purists, If you will, and understandably so…

Nice setup and certainly hope someone here picks it up (I would if I would not have a custom set already). Question - did you ever put them on a scale to see what the weight is?
Purely from an aesthetic standpoint I have to say the step lip is so much better.
Yea the flat lip reminds me of what was popular 10-15 years ago. Also heard water can build up and cause vibration in the rain on flat lips? Not sure that’s still an issue today.

I've never heard of that being an issue w/ flat lip rims and haven't had that problem with any flat lip set ups I've had in the past. I think flat lip also allows you to have a deeper looking rim b/c the lip is one continuous section and the rim may also look larger as you can use a larger diameter face on a flat lip rim. It is definitely a more old school look but it can look more unique in today's age where most set ups are step lip. Here's a nicely executed flat lip set up. Compare this to @Trini 's step lip set up of the same MLE81/LE81 BC Forged rims to get a feel for the differences on the same rim design btw step vs flat lip:

I had that exact BC Forged wheel in mind when I posted the question. I had a friend 15 years ago that complained of vibration with his flat lip HRE on his bmw in the rain so that’s why I asked. But good to know. Thanks.

I talked to this guy (Frank the Tank) before I bought these BC forged wheels for my 991.2T. I ordered the same faces as him, but opted for the stepped barrels instead. Just personal preference but I agree these look deeper being one long surface.

Those look great. Are they a pain to clean? I ceramic coat my wheels but just looks like a lot.
I’m currently drooling over these. I think they’d look great on my AG/Truffle/Brown Roof combo.

I have the MLE81s on my M3 and, yeah, any mesh rim is a PITA to clean. The individual spokes are hard to clean and, worse yet, you can't easily get to the barrel so you can't clean the barrels. Still almost bought some HRE 300 classics for my 992 b/c mesh rims are awesome and worth the effort!
